4-stars based solely on the treehouse playground area. My 4-year old wouldn't let me go explore the gardens at all (which was disappointing), bu she played for at least an hour climbing and running around. Very unique play area.

Loved that it was free, and if we're in the area we will definitely plan to stop in again and actually walk around the gardens :)

Beautiful park, full of flowers and trees. Very clean, paths are well maintained, benches are in great condition. And, it’s free!

The Gardens are easy to find and well maintained. Unfortunately I visited in early March, before most of the plants were available (winter), but the grounds were still impressive. I walked through the large Hosta garden (no actual hostas in March), and visited the children's area that had lots of fun things to climb on. There is a little koi pond and gazebo near there. The sculptures are worth seeing at any time of year, and some of the other gardens have interest even in winter. There's a large pond and a creek, an avenue of trees, a "forest," and some Victorian gardens. So, a wide variety of styles and shapes. Other than the conference center and the restrooms, there doesn't seem to be any indoor spaces. However, next to the gardens is the artists village with lots of little studios. None were open the day I visited, except for Unruly Gifts (a gift shop), but I understand that usually the artists can be visited and their works viewed like a kind of market town.

There are some picnic tables and plenty of parking. One could also bring a blanket and have a picnic on the lawns. This place would be great for kids to run around outdoors.

Big, beautiful, and free! The grounds were excellent and had a large biodiversity - a model for what many cities could do. I was quite impressed. I recommend a visit.

It was early in the season but the azaleas and rhododendrons were in full bloom and well worth the visit.
Chance meeting with the garden supervisor was a treat and were the conversations with the volunteers working in various sections of the gardens. This is not out first visit but the first since it became part of the Toledo park system. Will be back

Free admission but that is because this is more of a city park than a traditional botanical garden. Lots of nice walking paths. An artistic village at the beginning.

I love this place. It's lovely year round but especially in the summer--of course. It's also the only park you can go to get away from others' dogs.

Visited on a recent sunny Sunday afternoon. One of the first things that struck me was the beautiful Grand Allee with its beautiful trees (reminding of sights in some legacy European gardens). Enjoyed the Perennial Garden, the Pioneer Garden with its Pioneer Log Cabin, Sycamore Allee, the Hostas Garden, and more. The sculptures scattered throughout the gardens are interesting and add to the ambience of the gardens. The Secret Forest playground is great for the youngsters (and allows for a break in walking the grounds). Picnicking is allowed. Free admission too! The Artists Village looks like a great place to visit, but given the times, was closed during our visit.
