A pleasant Fall stroll
2020年10月 • 夫妻情侣
This short-ish out-and-back trail is about ten or fifteen minutes from the Carlisle Reservation, a large Metropark in the same Lorain County Metropark system, so it is a nice addition to a hike in that park if you somehow finish earlier than expected. There is a diversity of scenery: a pond, woods, and meadows. There are several side trails and connector trails that aren’t on the online map. It is especially nice in Fall, when the leaves have largely turned.

A peaceful day of hiking and fishing.
2017年8月 • 家庭
The fishing leaves something to be desired and they have allowed one pond to get pretty shabby but for hiking it is beautiful. Whether you are there looking for plants, mammals or birds; you will be pleasantly surprised.

Peaceful

We love Caley. It's a beautiful scenic area that we rarely run into other people at. Trash cans are available in the lot if you need to toss some pup waste. Small lot but does have a porta potty that was clean when I was there last. Beautiful area to wall when the leaves are changing.

Peaceful Place for Bird Watching
2013年5月 • 好友
Owned by the National Wildlife Federation but managed by the Lorain County Metro Parks, this park is better known as the Caley Reservation and is actually located closer to the small township of Pittsfield. The Caley Reservation can be easily found by heading east on Whitney Rd from OH-58 about 1 mile south of OH-303. After about 2 miles, Whitney Rd dead ends into West Rd; from here, go south and the entrance is 0.2 mile down on the east side of West Rd. Visiting mid-morning on a Saturday in spring, there were only two other cars in the lot and there were no other signs of people during my visit. The park features a short trail, several small ponds, creeks, forest, fields and wetlands resulting in a diversity of wildflowers and birds despite visiting a little late in the morning. This place is a wonderfully peaceful spot for bird watching and photography. With the ponds attracting a range of waterfowl the best times to visit are early morning or evenings in the spring or fall but the diverse habitat will support birds and wildflowers through the summer as well.

Beautiful hike to see the Swans and Cygnets. Beautiful butterflies and Kingfishers to boot! . Forest, fields, rivers and ponds. All to ourselves.
