This waterfall is similar to the ones experiencing at Hilo HI near the world's most active Volcano and also to the 120 feet drop at Spokane WA on Spokane River. The one in Spokane WA is used for hydroelectric power which is scarce among the Western region due to the prolonged drought similar to Hoover Dam near Las Vegas NV due to the drop in river levels.

My wife and I spent a wonderful time hiking the trails. We met Drew who was removing invasive Japanese Stilt Grass. We walked the Narrows trail to the Village of Clifton and enjoyed lunch at the Clifton Mill and walked around the town.

Very nice and scenic. We were not able to get WIFI so could not access paths on phone which was not so great since we had no clue how much more of the path we needed to take. Maps would be nice to have around the park, posted along the trail. But very fun hiking!

This is a great hiking park. We only got to do part of the rim trail but were able to see lots of good views of the water rushing below. Really interesting rock formations. We hiked on a Thursday and there were not many other hikers. We hope to go back for more. It can be slippery in spots if it has rained.

This is a great place to hike. The trails go from very easy to a little more difficult. No were overly difficult.
Unlike a lot of parks the signage was minimal and could use to be updated. Trail blazes would be a nice addition in spots

The trails here are easy. We just went for a leisurely walk & it was super easy. The river flowing under the hill was gorgeous. Plenty of different types of trees to look at too.

Definitely worth your time to go see. I would recommend an hour at least. If you walk the trails allow all day. Overviews are gorgeous.

The Clifton Gorge is right next to the John Bryan State Park, so link in your hiking with the great connected trail there as well. Fall is great to avoid mosquitoes

Went on a sweetest day hike with the wife day was perfect temps in the low 60’s the leaves were beautiful the cool air was nice and the smell of the forest was wonderful there was quite a few people there but was able stay safe wore masks only when around other people when passing on the trails. Scenery was beautiful the gorge and the river was peaceful had a great day.

This is a great place to hike, but I met many people who agreed that the paper map does not really show if you can take the North Rim Trail to the South Gorge and then "loop" around back to the parking lot - more signs and trail maps along the trail needed! I recommend NOT taking Grinnell Road (which is a roller coaster road) to get here, but rather, take the entrance closer to the opposite end of town.

There is a portapotty near the high end of the trail where the gorge is narrow. I don't know if it is maintained or opened during this Covid. Otherwise, I would say no, to the restrooms. I also haven't been there this year.

I have seen conflicting info about whether dogs are permitted on the Preserve. Are dogs allowed on trails?

No, they are not allowed on the Clifton trails. This park is connected to John Bryan state park and their trails do have pet friendly trails
I've never been here but would like to hike there. About how long are the hikes and are the trails well marked?

I mostly hiked along Little Miami River - started out at Lower Picnic Area of John Bryan (which leads to Clifton Gorge) and turned left onto Pittsburgh-Cincinnati Stage Coach which is 1.3 miles, but connects to other marked trails - I went all the way to Steamboat Rock and turned back around - very nice scenery. I have a map - call 937-767-1274 (park office) with any other questions!
