This state park is located on Lake Eufala. We originally booked at hitching post (without realizing it was an equestrian campground because there is no mention of it being an equestrian camp ground. I guess the name should have clued me in? Any way we were able to move spots to Turkey Flats. It is very clean and well maintained. There is a trailhead off of this camp ground but we went about a tenth of a mile before we could no longer tell where the trail was. Must not be very popular I guess. We did drive over to the lake view site and it was nice with a playground and swim beach. There are a few rv sites over there. That is probably where I’d stay if we went again. Overall it was ok. The trivia trail was pretty neat little trail with a waterfall. I think the lake eufala state park rv sites are cooler, with more shade and just a funner vibe

We didn’t camp here, but we just stopped while traveling to have a picnic lunch and to stretch our legs for a bit. It was a little further off the interstate than we had anticipated due to the very long road to the actual picnic area after we’d entered the park. Once we got back there the spot was beautiful though. We picnicked at the campground and there was only one camper parked there. We basically had the place to ourselves. The overlook to the lake was amazing. The bathrooms had a lot to be desired, but they were usable. Overall nice pit stop.

Beware that you can't cancel for a refund, even if you cancel the same day. I mistakenly booked this campsite, and called to cancel within 3 hours of booking. Their policy did not allow me to get refunded (since it was for that night) or transfer to the park I intended to book.

We loved Turkey Flats RV Park. The hosts were both very warm and helpful. We had problems with our trike on the Highway and the hosts stopped to check on us along with two or three others. We made it back to camp but it meant a lot that the hosts and others stopped for us. Lake Eufaula is a very beautiful lake. It’s also a huge lake. I’m sure there is plenty more to see but glad our first trip was at Turkey Flats! We enjoyed the short walk to the lake. Mostly shady so that’s nice in July! We also saw three young deer there. Wished I had my phone to catch those neat moments. Great trip!

The Arrowhead State Park website fails to mention that although Turkey Flats is a great campground for RV's...there is NO dump station in this Campground. If you are lucky enough to be able to reserve one of the few full hookup sites, it's great. But if you can't, you will have to travel to one of only two dump stations else where in the park, which is very inconvenient. On top of that, one has very minimal water pressure which makes flushing your tank impossible. We have camped at Turkey Flats for many years, and the previous host was very accomidating and courteous and allowed us to use an empty site to dump our tanks, which we greatly appreciated. This is not the case with the current host, so be very aware of this, or you will be confronted and told to go else where. Very disappointing...maybe one day things will improve.

The course is in really great shape, very well maintained. A beautiful Fall day to be on the course. Ms. Teresa in the pro shop was very friendly, helpful and nice. Well worth the price of admission. Definitely will be back, a very enjoyable time was had.

We have camped in Turkey Flats for many years, and for the most part it has always been peaceful and clean...until our last trip on the first weekend of June. The bathrooms were filthy, some of the occupied sites were very cluttered and messy, and the last thing was the golf cart that was allowed to be driven in the Campground. It was driving around numerous times throughout the days and even after dark which was very annoying and unsafe. If this is the new normal, and the park continues to allow these conditions and activities, we will have to sadly move our large group to another campground. Very disappointed, especially since this once was a very desirable place to camp.

Camped 2 nights at Echo Ridge campsite and the restrooms were filthy. On my second day I went to the park office to ask if they could be cleaned and that day someone mopped the floors but didn’t clean the toilet or handbasin. First time I’ve stayed at a State Park with dirty bathrooms and I don’t plan on visiting this one again.

We go to parks in Oklahoma several times a month. We always pay the $10 daily fee each time we go. We are Oklahoma residents and have Choctaw Nation plates on the vehicle. The rates indicate it should be $8 for Oklahoma residents instead of the $10 that we are charged, but with the Choctaw Nation license plates, it doesn't allow us the discount.
In addition to being overcharged, I am extremely disappointed with the conditions when we visit Arrowhead Park. The park attendant is always quick to pull in and check our tags to make sure we have paid. We always do, and the majority of the time no other vehicles are anywhere in site.
The restrooms in the park are almost always locked and inaccessible to use! If we are paying to be in the park, this seems like the minimum service that should be available! We have paid for parking nine times since January 26, 2021. Eight of those times have been at Arrowhead Park, and most of those times the restrooms have been locked! On the rare occasion they are unlocked, they have no soap or toilet tissue.
I understand the need for funding at the parks, but that also implies that basic needs can be found there. We have to leave and drive to a convenience store to go to the restroom. All of these trips have only been day visits, no overnight stays.
We love the parks and enjoy the nature there but not providing access to restrooms is unacceptable, especially when the employees there are so quick to always show up and verify we have paid.
We were told during a visit to Robbers Cave park that a seasons pass is an option, but it does not give us that option when we pay for parking on the app they use.
I emailed the parks department about the issues and got a phone call from an employee who was extremely nice. She was very familiar with the Premium Parking app used to pays fees for the stay. However, she also could not figure out how to do a season pass on the app. She advised calling Premium Parking. I called and talked to a very rude lady who said it could be done on the app, but the steps she said to use did NOT work, and she stated that the park employee didn't know what she was doing.
Next we went to the office area at Arrowhead to purchase the season pass there. The person working there had to use my email and password to sign into the app. She also could not get it to work and had to call someone else to get help with it, and said we should stop in next time we were there to see if it worked?! She did later figure it out, charged my credit card and sent a text saying it was fixed.
I have seriously never seen so many people trying to use an app and not know how to use it or explain to guests how to use it.
The same employee said that the bathrooms are locked in the winter to prevent vandalism! If that's the case and they are not going to be accessible, the winter rate should be reduced accordingly.
We love going to the parks and enjoy seeing all the nature there, but the mess and confusion with the parking situation makes it almost not worth it.
And having the park ranger/attendant stop every single time we are there is annoying. I get that he needs to verify we have paid, but the vast majority of the time, we are one of a very few number of vehicles, and we are always in the same vehicle. You would think he would eventually recognize the truck and check his list rather than bother paying guest over and over.
I'm not sure what the parking funds are used for, but its obviously not for soap and toilet tissue. Maybe it helps pay the salary of those who drive around looking for park patrons to bother.
Either way, with the situation they have created, I suspect that the number of people visiting will continue to decrease.
And one last concern...they don't provide any type of parking decal to show you paid for a season pass, they want you to print a copy of your receipt and put it on the dash for the parking attendant to see! I'm sure it will he comforting to have him walk up and look in the vehicle each time we are there to see if we printed a piece of paper to lay on the dash!

Stayed at Turkey Flats for 3 days during two separate stays in January 2021.
Asked the park host to refill the soap dispense in the men's room. He mentioned that he asked for soap for months but could not get the supplies.
Then I called the park office and was told that their supplier is out of product. I suggested that they take some money out of petty cash and go to a local supermarket and buy some. Then I was told that the budget was tight and supplier could not procure. So I concluded that park management was trying to save money by not refilling the soap dispensers. Apparently, even though we constantly are told that we should wash our hands to avoid COVID, park mangement in Oklahoma has decided that saving money on soap is more important than helping park guests avoid COVID.
I then apologized to the person I was talking to for I did not want be hard on her, it was not her fault. Usually in cases like this it's mananagement that is not doing their job. I asked to talk to management but I was never given the phone number, wonder why?
So if you want to stay here bring some soap to leave in the men's room to help the poor state of Oklahoma get by.
It is a shame, this is a fairly new and beautiful RV park. Suggest you try by staying.
