Step back in time and see this free route 66 roadside attraction. It's a great place to
take some fun pics. Restrooms are available. The Ladies room was kind of strange with side by side toilets and no partition, if sharing makes you uncomfortable take turns and wait.

If you're passing through Tulsa it's a short detour off the highway to go to Catoosa and see this famous roadside attraction. There are free restrooms in an outdoor round hut and a small gift shop. Otherwise you can just take 5-10 minutes and stretch your legs while admiring the kitschy whale.

Not a lot to do. Fish - catch and release only. The gift shop is adorable though, the sno cone shop ok. Scenic nonetheless.

The Blue Whale is cute (although very old). There is nothing to really do at this site but take a pic. There is a sign with a little history about the whale and in theory you may be able to fish in the small, dirty pond (although I can’t imagine a fish is actually in there). If you happen to be in the neighborhood, it’s cute but not sure I’d go too far out of my way for it.

What can I say that hasn’t already been said
A big blue concrete whale just off the road
What’s not to love
Not sure what time we got there but nothing was open. Not sure if anything opens. Although there is a bit in your passport to get stamped for the blue what. But no one was working or looked like they had worked there for a while

Nothing special.. nice blue whale in a pond.. you can walk inside it. Typical American attraction without art or part.

Can’t miss this road side attraction just off highway. Was driving around sightseeing the area and stopped here to look around. Learn the history to this attraction and visited the souvenir store.

Just a sweet little stop and a step back in time. Their little gift shop is now open 7 days a week year round. The lights were on on the whale that made for nice pictures. Bathrooms available. Picnic tables to take a little break at. Swimming no longer allowed but Mr Whale is in great shape! Fun little stop

If you are a fan of quirky roadside attractions, don't miss this. A great piece of Route 66 history. Make sure to stop in the gift shop. Ok, the bathrooms here are a bit sketchy, but that doesn't really detract from the attraction.

We drive on Route 66 through Oklahoma. Have we missed the "Blue Whale of Cartoosa"? It's impossible to see all the attractions during the tour and we almost missed a classic Route 66 stop. Of course we knew that we wouldn't see a masterpiece of craftsmanship. Evil tongues gossip about the ragged and wobbly whale in the mosquito mud hole pond, amateurishly slapped with concrete and blue paint. But as we drive on through sleepy villages and along the route and suddenly see the Blue Whale on the right, we are happy and stop in the parking lot. With the story in the background, the rusty pachyderm is a stop worth seeing - not just for children. In the early 1970s, zoologist Hugh Davis built this special playground for his grandchildren: at 24 meters long and almost seven meters high, it's not exactly small. Who wouldn't have been happy to have a grandpa like that?

It's not lit up and there was a gate when we went that said it was closed after a certain time of day, maybe dusk? Sunset? I can't recall what the gate said though but I got the impression that after a certain time it was locked.

Sounds like the Route 66 is the best app.... for us locals we pass by it so often, it would shock us to think someone could not find it.
1.. It is ON Route 66.... if you are headed to grand canyon what road are you on?
2. The Blue Whale of Catoosa is a waterfront structure, located just east of the town of Catoosa, Oklahoma, and it has become one of the most recognizable attractions on old Route 66
coming FROM the EAST the whale is 1.3 miles PAST the Verdigris River.
coming FROM the WEST the whale is 2.5 miles PAST the Hard Rock Cafe` (worth the stop, too. Good food, entertainment and nice break before you're back on the journey)
