This is a great museum for all ages. Not overwhelming but definitely educational and well as funny enough to be entertaining as well. Docent was great and library was very cool

I was looking for historical books on Guthrie and was told to go to the museum. Not only was it east to find, easy to park and beautiful to boot, the woman working there on 6/25/22 was very helpful. We talked for awhile as I was looking for a book. She ended up giving me a second book about Elmer McCuardy for free as "you might need a second book for your long trip."
The book is fabulous by the way!

There has been a novel published recently which takes place in 1899 Guthrie. When you read the novel and walk the streets of the town, you can see the accuracy of the town's description. "The Canary Cage" is a real depiction of the activities in the town around the turn of the 20th century. the Characters are fiction, but the town is real.
Scenes of many movies are shot in this town, because of it's historical buildings. "Rain man", "Twister" and others have scenes from this town. Had a great two day stay here. Plenty of history.

This is a great museum, well organized with good information. The focus is on Oklahoma’s early history but it gives a good coverage of the late 1800s an early 1900s in the United States.

There are some gems inside this museum that details life in the area during and after the Oklahoma Land Run. The exhibits are interesting and the staff is really nice. I recommend stopping here for some Oklahoma history. The Carnegie Library adjacent to the museum is currently under construction.

Any history buff would enjoy the tour. It features items from the land run, such as buggies, an old cabin, clothing, and housewares. It tells the story of Oklahoma transitioning from territory to statehood. Seniors pay $5. Photography is allowed.

This was a charming museum that tells the story of the great land race of Oklahoma to stake a land claim. It houses authentic relics that had been donated. It also is connected to the Carnegie Library which is a beautiful building.
