... desde Mena hasta el límite estatal con Oklahoma. La carretera tiene algunos tramos muy muy fotográficos. A lo largo del recorrido tiene varios miradores, y para descansar puedes parar algo en Queen Wilhelmina Lodge y disfrutar de las vistas que hay desde allí.

Excellent drive then stayed at Eagle Creek Escape cabins which is close by make sure you go during the week for less traffic

If your in the area this is a must take road trip the views are beyond amazing. It is breath taking to how far you can see on a clear day.

We traveled in the winter, which gave us the opportunity to see into the forest. The rocky ledges and fields of rocks all throughout the woods was awesome. We made sure to walk on many of the trails, which I highly recommend to really experience the character of the topography. The Orchard Trail at the eastern Ranger station is beautiful. The Fire Tower road was closed but we parked and walked up there. The Lovers Leap, Reservoir, and Spring trails at Queen Wilhelmina State park are great. The Pioneer cemetery is a must see. The Kerr Nature Center had a beautiful trail with some of the tallest American holly trees I've ever seen. The CCC springs at Horsethief Spring is a nice walk. We stayed at Queen Wilhelmina State Park so that we could do it all and split our drive/ walks.

What an experience! I find it hard to imagine how they could have designed and built such a beautiful drive. Take your time and enjoy the drive.

We did the full length of this scenic byway going from west to east in October. We enjoyed all of the numerous overlooks. The visitor station on the western end was not open which was disappointing. There's plenty of hills and twists and turns. Highly recommended.

The views were great as other people stated, but I found one major issue. We rode this on Motorcycles in late October in both 2020 and 2021. The road's condition on the portion from Mena, AR to the state line is not bad. There's a few patched potholes, but not too bad. Once you hit the state line going in to OK, the nice asphalt turns into what we would call back home as a "tar and chip". Basically a layer of tar poured on the road and gravel rolled over that. It has a VERY rough texture which cause a lot of noise and vibration that nearly caused my hands to go numb, which is basically unheard of on a Honda Goldwing. The whole bike vibrated the rest of the way and it looked like someone had dragged something down the road, leaving miles of a groove in the surface which would cause the bike to wobble if you went over it. If you ever drove over a road where they ground off the old asphalt, leaving a cheese grater texture, then you'll know what it was like. I'm guessing that it's a rural road and OK wasn't about to spend the money to resurface it properly.

I journeyed the full length of the Talimena Scenic Drive from Mena to Talihina. The roadway was easy and fun to drive. It meanders along the ridge and up and down the mountains. There were many opportunities to stop at overlooks and enjoy the views. Short trails are located at the OK/AR state line and at Queen Wilhelmina State Park. My one comment is that people need to STOP the graffiti. Restrain yourselves people! Talimena Scenic Drive is one of America’s great byways and I strongly recommend visiting.

Wonderful drive with pull outs and overlooks marked. Sadly, much of the signage was old and hard to read. And the information center at the beginning of the drive is abandoned. It is located in town. Not sure what agency is responsible for upkeep, but the drive is so wonderful; I wish it was kept up more to preserve it for years to come.

If you enjoy driving along winding country roads, you'll enjoy this. There are several awesome views and the area is peaceful and beautiful

Could anyone provide specific information about restroom facilities located on the scenic byway, or at the beginning/end of the byway? I see that there is a restroom marked on Google Maps at the Wilhelmina State Park - but is it open? Thanks in advance for any input you have to share :)

I went there last year, we found a picnic/rest area along the scenic route that had restrooms.

It's too late. Last weekend when we went(Nov 2nd,2019) the top of the drive already had lost all of its leaves. The approach north of Talihina and the descent at Mena were still changing but I'd venture by this weekend after the hard freeze last week that it's essentially over.
