My visit and my thought.

It was cool, nice to see the kids are learning, I live in Oklahoma and personally I think its a desert that some German explorers discovered and named.

educational Comanche tribute
2021年6月
A short walk from the Museum of the Great Plains, the Comanche National Museum and Cultural Center was a small but interesting place that honored Comanche culture. The art was inspiring. The explanations of Comanche family, religious, and aesthetic concepts helped me to understand their culture. The exhibit on the Comanche code users during WWII helped me to appreciate the immense service they provided to the US despite its past mistreatment of them. The museum merits a short visit to better understand this major Native American culture.

Recommended - very informative
2020年9月
This is a small museum so don't expect much, but what is offered is well worth the visit to the free museum.

The gentleman who greeted us took our temperatures and told us some things of the Comanche Nation - from the past and from today. Very informative! Thank you!

We went into the museum and were told not to take pictures of the artwork on the walls. So, we didn't take pictures inside. Being a small museum, we were in and out in about 20 minutes. And I just had to get two of the "coins" that were imprinted with Comanche Nation pictures.

We went to the gift shop and spent that much time there looking around and purchasing some things.

Everyone there was very nice and I'd recommend this museum to anyone. Just next door is the Museum of the Great Plains, so you can make a long afteroon visiting the two.

Don’t ask wrong question

The museum was well done. Hiwever, when I asked the gentleman at the desk a question he spent 10 minutes telling me his family history over and over. He no doubt has a history to be proud of but he only answered my question after I had asked it three times. I was trying really hard not to be rude but he should have respected my time also. I only write this in hopes he will see it and tone it back. I visited museum out of curiosity and respect but now I think back and wish I had just walked away. Too bad

The Comanche Cultural Center is a masterful display of the tribe's history and culture. As you enjoy the live performances, the narrated museum display, and the outdoor village you feel emerced in the Comanche way of life and their unique traditions. Great for the whole family!

Enjoyed it

I enjoyed my visit. It's a small museum but well done. The staff was very nice and informative. It sits right behind the Museum of the Great Plains which is also quite nice.

Sorry to say don't waste your time

Was really looking forward to visiting but it was really just a waste of time. Was hoping to see more actual artifacts but really it was a art museum of Pop Indian Art

Very Interesting
2019年9月
Visited here and was impressed with staff more than the Museum. Only the front part of the exhibit was open when I went but it was still interesting. The man at the front desk was great. He passed along lots of information and history as we talked. This made it even more memorable. I highly recommend it to anyone that has even the slightest interest in History. Make sure you ask about the Code Talkers.

Very educational

The museum is very small and very well done. We knew nothing about historical Comanche tribe life but after visiting the museum we now are very well informed. The exhibits are excellent. The museum greater was very personable. The admission is free.

Well Worth a Visit

While you are visiting the Museum of the Great Plains take time to go to the Comanche National Museum and Culture Center nearby. The man at the entrance was happy to talk and share information about the museum and the area. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I was very impressed at all of the knowledgeable displays. There is a display on the WW11 code talkers. I was also fascinated to read about the sculpted busts of prisoners made in 1878 on loan from the Smithsonian. I also learned how few native speakers are left and plans to teach children the language. This was a good museum to spend 1 1/2 hrs. They have a gift shop with a good selection of books.
