Books and Banter went out of business sometime last year. This was the second move for them (to a "better" location) but even moving a cross the street from the mall couldn't save them.

There is nothing special about this place. You've seen this bookstore in every town in America, except without the charm.

This was a cozy little book store that exceeded my expectations. The owners were easy to talk to as well as helpful and the "mascot", a very nice Greyhound, was an inviting touch. One might step in to escape the heat and leave with a book, a snack and a feeling of new friends. They also had coffee that smelled tempting, though I did not indulge, and some intriguing art. All and all I would highly recommend anyone in Lawton to carve 20 minutes out of their day to stop and see this unique little shop.
