This district of shopping and restaurants has the ability and promise to be an amazing experience. For us, however, it was not.
This was a recommended stop by an OKC local. We went on a Monday and unfortunately most of the shops were closed on Mondays. The ones that were open were cute but pricey.
One that was open was DNA Art and it was an eclectic experience of local art. We enjoyed browsing and buying art from local artists.
So my advice is just plan ahead and avoid going on Mondays.

Something to love for every adult, but especially anyone who is a foodie or an art lover. The Plaza District is a growing cultural district that is nestled between the historic Gatewood and Classen-Ten-Penn neighborhoods near downtown OKC. Walking, scooter, biking distance to the Paseo and Midtown districts as well. Many popular OKC restarunts and even an ice cream parlor got their start here.
To mention a few unique Plaza District only restarunts theres The Press a dinner with a modern menu but with large traditional diner portions they also host live entertainment. Other must mentions include Pie Junkie who serves the literal best pie (sliced, whole, or mini) in the city with seasonal options so good you know youll be back to try them all. What about the newest stuff you say? How about an adult pizza aracde serving up nostalgia and mixed drinks called UpDown. Let's not forget the new crown jewel of the district, Ma Der Lao, a restarunt so good its being talked about and coveted by foodies around the nation in publications like the New Yorker. Dont fret though, it is not a expensive splater on a plate kind of place, they serve real food from the heart of a James Beard semi finalist chef who shares his Laotian culture on a hearty affordable plate. For the artists or just someone looky for a funky curio there are many boutiques, clothing stores, and galaries unique to the Plaza District. This is a 100% walkable shopping, dining, and entertainment district. Parking isn't always easy to find on the weekend but it's free so consider coming on a week night or parking in the nearby neighborhoods (its allowed and expected) and they recently refinished the sidewalks and parking to make it better for everyone. Come and try something new today!

We were staying in 11th and walked here, enjoyed shops, tacos, coffee and yoga. This is only going to attract more and more cool shops over time

Nice artsy area to walk around and pose in front of some murals. There were several shops, bars and restaurants in the area. While the kids had fun with the murals, the shops were geared more toward adults vs family--there just wasnt a lot for kids.

This area has shops and restaurants and looked nice. It was Sunday so many of the shops were closed. There is a great ice cream place - I found graham cracker ice cream, a real treat as few places make this flavor. We needed a walk and this was just the place to wander.

There was not much to see. Most of the stores were into hippie art. Looked like a few good restaurants. I did enjoy viewing the painted mural in the back alley.

The Plaza district has several smaller restaurants with great food and unique boutiques and shops. I enjoyed looking at the murals which frequently decorate the district's shops.

Had a beautiful Saturday walking the district and shopping at all the unique shops. Nice way to spend an afternoon. Bit of a time in finding a parking spot - it's a popular area. Enjoyed the restaurants and eating places also. Will come back here again.

My daughter loves the Plaza district, and since we live in Oklahoma City, we are able to visit often. There are many food choices and fun shops to peruse, not your everyday stuff, so it's a great place to find something different to give as a gift, or treat yourself. The biggest downside is the parking, it's very difficult to find parking, but the neighborhood around has street parking and it's not a bad walk.
