Museum hosts were very knowledgeable and helpful. Enjoyed the many displays - especially the Boy Scouts of America display - as my husband is an Eagle Scout.

This museum is relatively small, but very well done. So much history and much of it from the last 100 years, so everyone can relate to some of it. Staff was very friendly and informative, but gave time for us to browse at our leisure. They did an excellent job with the local history. Plan to spend a couple of hours here to get the full experience.

A wide variety of items to view. Great stop to understand local history. Free to enter. There are exhibits outlining the local history and the oil boom. Informative.

We really knew very little about the history of this area so our visit to the museum really was enlightening. I also wasn't aware of Pahuska's relationship with the early Boy Scouts. Wow.

By far the best museum we visited in Pawhuska. We had no idea of the diversity of Osage County and learned so much here. The hostess was fantastic and very informative about all the community had to offer. This is one of the first places you should visit to learn about the community, it’s history and other places to visit while in Pawhuska.

Osage County is chock full of interesting history. Did you know the first Boy Scout Troop in America was founded here in 1909. Okay, it was under a British Charter so it was not the Boy Scouts of America, but predates the New York troop. Also, they have a good displays of Ben Johnson's career, General C. Tinker, local historical items and a great selection of books both new and used. The staff is knowledgeable as well.

We visited Pawhuska for a couple of days, and this local museum caught our attention. We spent about 2 hours watching historic slideshows and wandering through the different exhibit areas, and still felt there was more to be examined if only we had the time.
There are several major exhibit areas, including; Pioneer Life, Western Life, Indian Life, Early Oil Industry, and the Boy Scouts. I did not realize Pawhuska had the first Boy Scout troop, before the Scouts were officially organized in the US. The troop was started by an English Episcopal priest who was assigned to the local church, and was actually chartered by the Boy Scout organization of England.
There are displays of local residents during WWI & WWII, including BG Tinker, the highest ranking Native American to serve, and for whom Tinker Air Force Base was named. Numerous uniforms, weapons, and related artifacts are displayed.
Actor Ben Johnson, who was the foreman on a local ranch until he was discovered by Hollywood, has his own area.

Who knew the first Boy Scout troop in the US is here. The displays are plentiful and photos are large. The staff was very knowledgable and not afraid to ask if another if they didn't know. On their advise bought a book about my inquiry and found our family name on the 1st illustration. Visit and leave a donation.

This museum is hosted by such wonderful staff members. They are tremendously welcoming and can answer almost any question you post to them.
There are exhibits of Ben "Son" Johnson, Osage Nation, The First Boy Scout Troup, and many other interesting artifacts. This is a small museum, but it is well kept and interesting to visit.
