Great spot for a picnic or camping
2020年3月
Very well taken care of spot with lots of areas to camp by the lake or just have a picnic. Very serene and clean when we visited on a Saturday. We'd go back and camp there!

Stunning WPA project
2019年5月 • 家庭
I'm passionate about American history and this doesn't disappoint. On the outskirts of town, one crosses Pawnee Lake over a stone walkway/bridge a short distance. In view upon a hill is the 1939 sandstone overlooking the pool. I can see why this is a popular attraction in warm weather. Has a wonderful nostalgia to it.

Old-fashioned family fun
2018年6月 • 夫妻情侣
The WPA bathhouse is an impressive sight, nestled in the tree-lined hillside. The grounds are well-maintained, with lovely planting. The staff were friendly. The freshwater pool (a small lake) reminded me of an old-fashioned summer camp, with docks for jumping, a slide, a water trampoline, and a small beach. They had two lifeguards on duty, who were very attentive. There were a few picnic tables in the shade, as well as a gazebo. Otherwise there is a lot of sun. The water was a little warm, but I guess that is to be expected with temps hovering around 100. The snow cones from the concessions looked refreshing. Note that because it is a 1939 structure, it is not disability accessible (at least that I could tell.) There are about sixty steps uphill.

Fun little place to relax
2017年7月 • 夫妻情侣
This was a fun little place. I didn't have my bathing suit but it was a nice place to relax. It was pretty and enjoyable! We were already in the area and needed to kill some time so we found this place. I would have loved to lay in the water. It has a fun little slide for the kids to play on. There is a lifeguard on site.

Interesting find
2017年3月 • 夫妻情侣
While waiting for a dinner reservations, we bought some beer and went out to Pawnee Lake. We found the bathhouse, which was quite a site in the middle of the Oklahoma prairie. Art deco kinda stands out in this region but was an interesting diversion.

Spectacular Public Works Project - Pawnee's Bathhouse
2016年4月 • 家庭
The Pawnee Bathhouse, a depression-era complex was created by the WPA in the 1930s. There us a series of stone terraces leading from the balconied stone bathhouse to a natural swimming pool and sandy beach, near the Pawnee City Lake. It provides a beautiful setting for picnics and just sight-seeing. It is also a good spot for viewing bald eagles in the winter months.

Vintage Bathhouse Swimming Area from the 1930s
2016年5月 • 夫妻情侣
We visited the restored bathhouse on Pawnee Lake where we were camping. I think it is maintained by the city of Pawnee. During the summer season this is (and was back when) a place to come and swim in a natural pool near the lake. Slides and a small beach area for family fun. Not sure I want to swim in this water though. Bathhouse was used to rinse off in showers so one could change clothes. Interesting.

WPA at it's finest

The Pawnee Lake bathhouse was a WPA project built in 1939. It is still an active bath house today, and it is located north of Pawnee at the Pawnee lake. I use to go here as a child (50 years ago), and it still mesmerizes me to this day. There is a circle drive around the lake, with camper hook ups, picnic tables and eagles to watch!
