Wonderful details of how women lived during time periods. The women worked hard and faced hardships thus making this museum a very educational understanding.

Enjoyed this place very much. We were the only ones there but that was not surprising during covid. Would have liked to see the demos but they were not doing them. There is an admission fee but we got in free because my husband asked about a veterans discount. We got in free because are both veterans. According to their flier, their gift shop featured hand made items from 20 artists. What I saw was mostly made in china.

another day trip stop to see the pioneer womens history. it was ok, had some interesting things but very small, not worth seven bucks in my opinion.

This was a nice little museum to pass the time while we were in Ponca City. It took about an hour to go through. There are really only two sections to look through. One section is filled with things the Pioneer woman had living in the 1800s. The other section deals with women in newspaper reporting. There was a lot of reading there. There is also a section dealing with women in the wild west like Annie Oakley and the performances they did. That was a lot of reading. They have a nice gift shop. It was $5 for seniors , $7 for adults.

A fascinating place. A must see museum! . Great place for teenagers and adults. We visited in May 2020 so because of Covid 19 we did not get a guided tour. It was nice to go thru at our own pace.

if you should find yourself in Ponca city, Oklahoma, you'll see that there aren't a whole lot of touristy things to do. This statue and museum are one of the things on that short list. The statue was installed in the 1950s and the museum was built about the same time. Honoring the strength and determination of the pioneer woman back in the early days Of Oklahoma, the museum documents the contributions of many important Oklahoman women over the past century or so. There are installations that have antique equipment from that era and explanations about what life was like back in the day. There is a whole wing that is dedicated to women in journalism which was somewhat less interesting (for me anyway). While certainly enlightening for members of both genders, the exhibits certainly cater to the female side of things and this would be a great place to take young girls to show them that they can make big differences in the world. Recommended

It was highly fascinating to see the many things early women in Oklahoma had established. Equally educational was the display on women journalists in Oklahoma. Great precursor to the Marland Mansion.

On the grounds is a 30-foot-high bronze statue of a pioneer woman and her son, the museum honors the women of Oklahoma from the time of the Trail of Tears to the age of women in space. The museum displays typical items found in pioneer homes at the turn of the century, as well as artifacts from the 101 Ranch, home of a famous Wild West Show. Cost is $2.50 for seniors and free for veterans.

Small but informative museum. Learned a lot and enjoyed reading the stories of women and their accomplishments. Especially enjoyed the hallway on women in the rodeo and wild west shows.

We recently visited this Museum and enjoyed the exhibits. A great collection of exhibits showcasing women's roles in the early settlement of the territory. An exhibit on Oklahoma women in the media was excellent as well. The highlight was visiting with the staff and their help in researching our ancestors.
