Another one of the Philip's families gifts to Oklahoma. A beautiful estate, well-kept. I was disappointed in the lack of information regarding the actual property, I wanted more about the history. There were several art displays that were not labeled.

Wow, we were looking for places on our trip through Tulsa and saw that this might be interesting and we were not disappointed. Very well kept up art museum and workspace. Beautiful landscaping. Great story about Mr Phillips and the family. Lots to see. Take your time and soak it all in.

Beautiful locale for Tulsa’s first art museum. The home of Wade Philips was donated to the city to house and celebrate the numerous types of art and artifacts. The grounds are scenic, tranquil, and well manicured. This is a must see when in Tulsa

This place is amazing! We nearly had the entire house and grounds to ourselves on a beautiful Saturday morning. It looks like a villa in Italy. Absolutely stunning gardens. The art collection is extensive too. The neighborhood homes around it are extremely impressive too.

Philbrook is a must for anyone in the Tulsa area. We vist when in town, and are always taken back by the gardens beauty. This spring Tulips were especially gorgeous. There is wonderful art as well, which is the main point of visiting.

I enjoyed this museum. Nice variety of art. I especially liked the Indigenous pottery and painting. Garden was lovely to walk around and the special exhibit was great.

Beautiful museum and gardens! Loved the exhibits they had, walking around the stunning gardens, and the gift shop was filled with fun trinkets!

Philbrook museum is small but the collections are quite special. Ofcourse the touring shows are enjoyable and educational. The gardens make this former home of the Phillips family dreamy. Enjoy.

I have been visiting the Philbrook on family trips to Tulsa since I was a kid. I always came in the summer and loved walking around the gardens, but the grounds on this visit were also beautiful on a recent late-autumn trip, even though it was a misty, rainy day and of course most of the flowers and foliage have gone until spring! As a kid I didn't enjoy the art collections as much, but now I can be properly impressed by the exhibits and I have to say this is one of the nicest art museum experiences I've ever had. It feels very quiet, serene, and intimate in the spaces, and the collection is thougtful and varied and interesting. I think there is something for everyone, from ancient artifacts to medieval paintings to fascinating contemporary art. One thing that's changed since I visited as a kid is the land acknowledgement, and this was a good change to see.
The one thing that disappointed us on our recent visit was seeing that the restaurant/café is no longer there. We used to really enjoy going there (I love museum restaurants!) and were counting on it this time. It's been replaced by a little coffee counter that just isn't the same.

I have toured once and strolled the gardens several times. While I am a big fan of “natural landscaping”, I do not like the redo of the large formal garden out back. It is a formal house, and the formal garden is exactly what it needs. Trying to make a formal place in the middle of Tulsa look “woodsy” is a mistake, especially with the park nearby. I haven’t been back. I hope they changed it back to what the architect / designer intended. Maybe they have fixed it. I can’t date my review further back than a year ago.

Polo Grill has private rooms. Best place in Tulsa. It’s in nearby Utica Square

Yes, there are several areas that you can stroll through when the museum is closed. The grounds are extremely beautiful as well.

How much time should be allowed for going through this museum?

At any museum, the amount of time someone needs varies by person. Having said that though, it is not a huge place. There are really just three floors of exhibits, all on the smaller side. An hour inside is ample time. We spent the majority of our time outside, exploring the statues, rocks and gardens. I would say to allow an hour and a half for outdoors. Unless you picnic or take a nap somewhere, you won't be there any more than four hours.
