This is a fun and interesting attraction on Route 66. Parking is off a road on the opposite side of the highway. You can access the sculpture via the pedestrian bridge.

We were checking off tourist sites along Route 66 on our way out of Tulsa. Centennial Plaza was fairly easy to access without any cost. There is a parking area for the plaza on top of a nearby hill or you can park along the river and walk over to the site. This east meets west commemoration is a life-sized realistic sculpture of an automobile crossing passing with a horse and buggy. It provides a few really nice photo opportunities. You can actually climb up and walk across the bridge that spans over Route 66 (and is marked that way) while looking down on the Plaza and the nearby area. Informational displays provide a historical context. It celebrates Cyrus Avery who is often referred to as the father of Route 66.

Directions to this place are next to useless but it’s worth persisting.
There’s some great info about the history of the old bridge and also a massive symbolic East meets West statue.
Walk under the road on the cycle track back to the (not signposted at all) car park.

Take the time to park, walk across the bridge and walk over the Arkansas River. Great route 66 history, sculptures and neon. Take your time and read the history. Don't mind the spider webs.

Tulsa has a number of things to see and do, but we chose a few that our travel time would allow. This is in an area that runs beside the Arkansas River. There is parking across the road, then you walk across the bridge with the Rt 66 sign on it. Then you can go down the steps once you have crossed the road to see the statue here up close. There is also a court of flags showing the flags of the 8 states along art 66. Cyrus Avery is known as the father of Rt 66. This is another one of those somewhat quick stops for some photos and then you move on. The drive along Riverside Drive here is lovely, seeing the lengthy walking/running trails and nature statues along the path.

This is a really interesting statue in a park next to the river. It is difficult to get to or find, but worth the effort.

On a girls weekend we flew into Tulsa and stopped by on our way to Pawhuska for some great photos and a history lesson on the famous Route 66. We had a lot of fun snapping photos and admiring the details in this beautiful statue.

Photo opportunities abound! Very cool bronze statues: "East Meets West". Clean, modern foot bridge to parking across the street. (Up the hill.) The best part is the Memorial Bridge (which is gated/fenced off). It is a piece of Old Route 66 that you must see, especially with all the wild flowers blooming.

This place very interesting but also cool. It is a good place to take young kids and your elders. My grandparents and I went. Loved it, absolutely loved it. It has a cool bridge and then as you walk down there is the east meets west sculpture/design. Very cool. You could take you kids and let them play around but you could enjoy the history of it. It is definently a place to go when in Tulsa.
