We were staying at nearby Sequoia SP and drove over to check it out. We were very disappointed! It is old, run down,
Dilapidated and forgotten. Junk was piled up in front of lake.. vehicles, machinery, and even a kitchen sink! This place should be on a closure list! Disappointment and disgrace to Oklahoma.

If you want to go camping don't come here, but if you want to party, drink, and make a lot of noise, this is the park for you. Park Ranger doesn't come by after 5 pm so party hard here. Oh but don't plan on taking any shower unless you have your own

Oklahoma does have its problems and challenges, but it really has some gems in its state park system. My wife and I have visited at least 15 and Sequoyah provided another excellent experience for us. We stayed in one of the cabins, which had a great view of the lake. We put in over 10 miles on the trails, saw a good bit of wildlife, and spent a some time at the lodge as well. It's a beautiful place.

Sequoyah Bay State Park is situated on Ft. Gibson Lake near the town of Okay, Ok. The park has numerous RV and tent sites. Some sites are located near the water and there are many options for camping in tree shaded sites. The camp host, Tony, is amazing and his pride in caring for this park is outstanding. There’s a roped off swim area, basketball court, pavilions and large grassy areas for volleyball, corn hole, softball, etc. If you like hiking, you can find a hiking trail near the park entrance. Cypress Cove Marina and Giggle Fish Grill are located inside the park. They serve great food and have camping necessities if you forgot something. This park is near our home and we spend a great deal of time there. It is a perfect place to spend time with our grandkids as there are many picnic sites with grills and fire pits. It’s the perfect place to Camp, play, swim, hike, and enjoy nature.

My daughter and I drove here yesterday to stroll down memory lane. This is where I camped with my parents and our cousins in my teens. There are areas that have changed over the years- just from age - It reminded me of the saying "you can never go home again". After 40+ years, I suppose I was wanting to relive those old memories but in one of the camp sites, the building where we used to take showers and look out over the entire camp grounds was gone. Thankfully, I have the memories in my mind. This is a beautiful place to go and be grateful for all the trees and water and nature. The main road is paved and well kept. Much appreciated and the speed limit is 25 in the park. I am looking forward to going back in the FALL when the colors are singing through the trees.

We love Sequoyah State Park. Just a beautiful place. So much to do...and so peaceful. A great golf course...horseback riding...a nature center...paddle boats...so much in one place. We love going here.

Attended a bluegrass festival hosted here. They lodge is updated and has many rooms, cabins and a bunkhouse. The in-house restaurant serve good food from the menu and there is also a buffet. I had the buffet twice and it was good for a $12 value. Nothing fancy, just good comfort food. Lodge has good facilities for meetings or special event. Not much outside to do outside in January :)

There is lots to do here. The state recently spent millions to redecorate the lodge and it is very nice with a nice restaurant off the lobby. The beds were comfortable and the staff was very nice and helpful. They have horse riding, a nice golf course and several ways to stay from cabins to the lodge.

We went 5 state parks in this area and we didn't find much to do here, but we really enjoyed skipping rocks, could've spent the day doing that, we are easily amused. There is a spirit trail towards the entry of the park that we didn't see until we were leaving, we hopped out to do part of it, but it was overgrown with weeds and a tick landed on my husband so that was the end of that hike. Overall it was a nice stop, good scenery, and lizard spotting.
