We camped at quarry island campground which is a corp of engineers campground. We stayed 2 nights in site #7. The pad was concrete and fairly level but short. Our 35 Ft motorhome barely fit. We had 30/50 amp and water however the water spigot had a leak which sprayed water so we hooked up to the water on the site next to us since it was vacant but we used a “y” connection. The weeds were a foot long and there was no shade. We had a lakefront view and there was a playground across the street. There was a fishing dock in the park . The first night was quiet but the second night was horrible. Someone in the tent area started playing extremely loud music at 12:30 in the morning and it continued until 4:30. I contacted the local sheriff department and was told they couldn’t do anything since there was not a noise ordinance! They advised me to go talk to them myself! I was not about to confront them since that is their job! We will probably not be camping here again. Also the dump station had low hanging tree branches that we could not avoid.

Cabin was ok but it’s heated with ventless gas heaters. Upon entering, the odor from just the pilot lights was sickening. We shut them down and opened windows to air out. Fortunately it wasn’t a real cold night so we did without heat. Had it been cold I would have left them on with the windows open (wasteful but healthier). They need to upgrade to those small heat pumps and ditch the wall AC and ventless heaters.

Great State Park but needs some road repairs to campsites. Nice views and quiet. The bathrooms were clean and air conditioning was working.

Lake itself, scenic views were absolutely amazing. However, this seems to be a lower budget State Park. I have been to many state parks in Oklahoma where the campgrounds themselves were much more updated and well kept. Don't get me wrong, landscape, grass etc was great, the following, not so much. We stayed at Victor Campground RV sites. First, the 12 mile roads to the actual entrance are horrendous! Potholes everywhere, the entire road. Signage makes it difficult to work yourself around the park itself. Bad thing about that is, in every campground I have visited the camp host is right at the entrance, you see them visiting and answering questions, very friendly and inviting. Victor campground hosts?? Non existent to answer anything, their site looked broke down and the only time we saw them they were throwing water out of their RV? Not a great "welcoming impression." Now there are some really nice sites however we were a few away from the boat ramp, very loud most of the day, kids screaming, shoreline up and down where we walked to fish had trash everywhere!! Worst part of this site was, boat ramp had a HUGE light that was on ALL NIGHT and it was like going to sleep while it was still light outside. Lastly, most parks have little shops in them where you can get ice, drinks etc.. Wister has none of these and the nearest one from our campground was 12 miles from the nearest place. One huge positive, the campers around us were great, ate at D&J's shop and breakfast burritos were AMAZING!!

This review is for Victor Area Group Camp. Our group of 30 found the amenities and facilities at the group camp to be perfectly suited to our needs. The common building with many big rectangular tables as well as many round tables allowed us to dine together and put on workshops. We prepared meals for 30 on the huge stove and served buffet line style very easily with people filing in one door and out the other. All the pots, pans, implements, colanders, water boilers for hot water and tea were on site. All we brought was a whetstone to sharpen knives. Even paper towels were provided. The grounds are beautiful, and we made use of the fire circle at night. Telescoping skewers for marshmallows were found in a kitchen drawer. The six A-frame cabins each hold six bunkbeds, and there are more beds in the loft. They have AC/heat units that do a good job of keeping the cabins warm or cool depending on the season (we have been here twice). Toilets and showers are in a separate building, but there are two bathrooms in the common building, as well. To rent the entire group camp for the weekend was $552 including tax.

The good- the lake is beautiful nestled in the hills with large evergreen trees all around. Wards landing campgrounds looks really nice- with a playground and volley ball. There are also the newer showers and bathrooms over there. There is a heart healthy trail that is paved and handicap accessible. We enjoyed the fishing dock. We participated in the first day hike which was neat! The lady that was working in the office was very friendly. There is a splash pad and mini golf. We had cell service pretty much everywhere in the park. The cabin we stayed in was walking distance to the mini golf, a playground and splash pad. Now the bad- the cabins are in need of some major maintenance. We stayed in number 12- which is a duplex. But the duplexes are conjoined- so there’s doors that open to the next cabin. So you can hear everything from your neighbors and vise versa. The cabin stunk like a house that had been smoked in for years. And I’m pretty sure our neighbor was smoking inside because sometimes the smell was so bad we had to go outside. Fortunately it was warm enough to leave the windows open and fans on. The toilet leaked from the base when flushed so there was also a pretty strong sewer smell. We kept everything opened up and sprayed febreeze a lot. I believe the cleaning crew does the best they can given the state of the cabins. I did see one roach- but it was pretty lethargic so maybe they had recently sprayed. The couch looked so nasty that we didn’t sit on it. The tv only picked up one channel- meTV and even it had static a lot. Now we frequent state park cabins- so we kind of had expectations of basic but well maintained- and clean. This one was by far the grossest one we have been to. The mini golf is also in pretty bad shape and need of some tlc- but we still enjoyed it. I would come back to the park and camp- but definitely not stay on the cabins.

Spent a night as the solitary tent camper in the Wister Ridge campground above the lake. Despite poor park signage, I was able to find the campground. Within the campground, sites are poorly marked and barely separated from one another and there is no water at the camp sites. To get water, you need go to the gnarly bathrooms, filled with flies but not with toilet paper.
The boat launch is a problem as well. At the base of a steep hill and degraded. Thankfully, my kayak is an inflatable and was an easy carry down the hill. The lake is an Army Corps reservoir. On this day, it featured pelicans, very cool.

People in campsites 25 play loud music all night the kids ran around yelling well after quiet hours, the campsites are right on top of each other, the roads in and out of Victor camp area are full of potholes, the campsites are not mark very well I would never tell anyone to stay there

Will not be back. Mouse dropping in bed and shower. Doors barely shut with visible cracks in doors. Generally the cabin is falling apart. Out of code too.
