My friend and I stopped at Pacific Dunes golf course to have lunch. The first thing we noticed was the backs of the chairs were filthy ... you could draw a line in the dirt with your fingernail ... we noticed most of the chairs were dirty as well. We ordered our lunch; 2 salads and 2 iced teas and fries. The waitress seemed a little unsure of herself , do we assumed she was new. The menu was practically non existent ... before Covid they had a nice array of choices... now not much. The waitress put our salads on the table and demanded to know"how are you going to pay for this??" I am rarely at a loss for words... we hadn't even taken a bite of our salads... she had a rude tone and we felt totally belittled. My friend told her after lunch...which was terrible !! How can you mess up salad? There was actual standing water at the bottom and the dressing was almost not there. I asked waitress for more dressing and she brought about a teaspoon.
We paid our bill and left a lousy tip. My friend asked why she had to ask before we ate as to how we were going to pay . She said it was their policy... we are both local residents and my husband a frequent golfer and he and I have had many meals at all of the restaurants over the last 5 years. Never like this. I asked the manager if I could speak to him and he said he "was too busy".

Prior to this round at Pacific Dunes I had never golfed of a course like this course, (or paid more than $50 for a round of golf) but it was worth ever penny, and I want to go back next year and play a couple other course here. I'm a 12 hdcp. golfer and I had a birdie (almost an eagle) and two pars shooting 93, which I would not have been able to do without my amazing caddie "Shane" he was an expert and being the first time I golfed with a caddie, I realize how it helps..

We played all 4 courses at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort and Pacific Dunes was our favorite... No wonder it's rated #1. The views and holes are spectacular! The wind is a challenge. We had great weather and taking a caddie is definitely the right choice - invaluable knowledge (i.e. eventhough you are 150 from the hole, take a 205 club to offset the wind today). We actually liked both Pacific Dunes and Bandon Dunes courses better than Pebble Beach!

Wow, what great views of the ocean. This is a fun and interesting golf course. Beware of the bunkers. Greens were big, so using a caddie is best

We traveled to Bandon Dunes Resort to celebrate my birthday and the resort amenities and golf are spectacular. My only criticism is that they have built a system that rewards caddies by allowing them to carry two bags and double their income. This is referred to as “double bagging” and has created a system that gives the golfer half the service for the same price as having your own dedicated caddie! This system, for me, truly ruins the golf experience! You can still book a separate caddies, which we did for the first day we played, however, when arrived at the first tee on the second day, amazingly only one caddie was present. We ask where my friends caddie was and the response was “I do not know - he just did not show up”. We ask for another caddie and were told, by the caddie, that there were no other caddies (Bandon has a caddie school with hundreds of caddies!). We suspect that the caddies have side deals with one another so that they can double their revenue by carrying two bags. Needles to say, the double bagging was a disaster - we were constantly waiting for the caddie to bring one of us our clubs for the next shot and once the caddie did arrive, we would feel rushed because the waiting for clubs was slowing down the foursome! My friend once took his bag so that he could have time to think about his next shot and the caddie barked at him for “making him look like he was not doing his job!” - I will let you, the reader, be the judge of that!
No, Bandon is a special place for golfers, but the reward incentive that the company has allowed for caddies to “double bag” definitely has been to the detriment of the golfing experience. My advice is to flattery refuse a caddie if you are pressured, like we were, into “double bagging”

A great golf course, we were lucky to play it on a sunny wind free day, some amazing views, amazing holes. Right up there with Pebble Beach, amazing

I played this in 40 mph winds and had the worst score I’ve had in ten years and still thought it was spectacular. Two days later in 20 mph winds I took 20 less shots and felt like I had conquered the world.
There are several holes that just make you shake your head in disbelief that you’re playing golf at such a wonderful course. I don’t think there’s too many par-threes in the world that can match hole #11.
With no wind this could be a very manageable course, but with the normal wind it becomes a bear. I’m so glad I came here and blistered up my feet. Totally worth it.

My son and me visited Bandon for a 4 day golf trip under the Bandonista program. This allows a father/son team to get Buy One Get One free round of golf at all the courses in Bandon. This made the father son visit to Bandon even more enjoyable. We liked the Pacific Dunes and Bandon Dunes courses as their best followed by Bandon Trails. Would definitely return for more links style golf whenever possible.

We spent a fantastic week in Bandon Dunes playing Bandon, Pacific, Old MacDonald, & Trails, twice for Pacific & Bandon. Pacific has to be one of the best I’ve ever played. The only course which comes close is Kingsbarns, Scotland. Great practice facilities.
John & Kim Flannagan of Flannagan Golf Tours organized it for us (John & Kim live in Bandon). We stayed at the Beach House at Bandon which provided much flexibility for fresh salmon & steaks on the gas grill, breakfasts in, & lunch a a couple of dinners out.
Recommend it highly.

My favorite of the four Bandon Dunes courses. Also has a great restaurant. The pancakes for breakfast and the bratwurst for lunch are the best. Also at this location is the super fun Punch bBowl 18 hole putting course.
