What a superb place for a walk or bike ride or just to sit by the rushing Tumalo Creek. Miles of groomed trails, some paved, in a gorgeous setting.

This is a great place to go for a jog, or meditative walk by the river, or birding. Very pretty spot.

The park isn't exceptional, but nice enough. It's close to Bend with well-maintained trails on both sides of Tumalo Creek. Very pretty in October, with the trees turning colours. The covered bridge has sadly been removed. The trails are good for all ages and abilities. Dogs are welcome.

Shevlin Park is certainly a sparkling gem in the woods near Bend. Miles of trails and a beautiful river running through it. One can hike for a long time and find yourself all alone if that’s what you’re looking for. There are many places to stop along the river and cool off, put your feet in the water and just contemplate the beauty you are surrounded by. Restrooms, water and a large parking lot too.

Close in trail to reach for a jaunt when you don't have quite enough time to make it to trails up at Bachelor or out of town.

There is pond there where children can fish, as well as many trails for walking. The grounds are well maintained and with picnic table areas.

Close in to town, very well kept, lots of picnic tables, clean rest rooms. Several loop trail options for walking, running or cycling. Good spot for an exercise walk. Several loop options through woods, ridge line and beside creek. A loop is about 5 miles with no elevation gain.

Shevlin Park is one of those places that's easy to overlook on a map, especially when Bend is surrounded by millions of acres of Deschutes National Forest. And while that federal land might get all the views and glory, this local park is definitely worth a stop!
There are some wonderful hiking trails here located along the creek, and it's easy to forget that you're basically still in town. This was a great way to burn off a little breakfast!
