The ice skating rink in Honolulu has closed. So this place is not only nostalgic, but also appropriate for the holidays.
The grandchildren had fun. No one fell. All the skaters in the rink appear well-behaved and followed the rink rules.
We enjoyed watching.

They only make ice at the end of the lessons. (no more than once a day)There are dangerous rutts and cuts into the ice so deep you can twist your ankle and fall or worse.

It’s been so long since I’ve ice skates and this was a great experience! I’ve lived here for a few years now and decided to give it a try after 20+ years! Loved the entire experience!

Great place for both kids and adults, alike. Outside firepits are amazing and the employees are helpful and friendly.

I was so excited when I learned that there was FINALLY going to be a full-sized arena in Bend! My husband took me for my birthday (I had been counting the minutes until it opened), and it was great! We have our own ice skates, so I can't say how the rental skates are, but they are definitely new. Very nice facility; I think the staff is doing really well managing the amount of people they have to deal with, plus all the programs that are going on. Check it out!

Went there around 5pm. It was busy but not so busy that you couldn't skate. Rentals looked new and the ice was in very good shape. There is a small snack bar and plenty of tables and seats. A nice place to go to after a day skiing.

We went to The Pavillion as an Apres Ski activity with the kids. The public skate session was Saturday 6:30 to 9:00. They have a family skate session with reduced pricing but did not see when that was scheduled. The Pavilion has all kinds of sessions for hockey, figure skating, curling and open skating. There are hockey games during the season that have a beer garden.
Saturday prices with a skate rental were about $11 for kids and $12 or $13 for adults. This was not a cheap activity but the rink is well maintained and the snack bar was reasonable and had a good selection.
There are coin-op lockers available. The classic .25 every time you open it. The rink is outside with a roof to provide shelter from inclement weather. There is ample space around the rink that is floored with rubber for walking with skates. The area extends around one end of the rink where gas fire pits are located. This area is elevated to allow good viewing of the ice.
On Saturdays after the open skate they have the Bend Curling clubs practicing. We went to El Sancho taco restaurant for $2 happy hour tacos from 9-10 then came back and had a good time just watching the curling at no cost. What a great experience.

This summer our grand kids, ages 9,12 were visiting and they wanted to go every day after 1st visit...What a deal...Basketball, Pickle Ball, Ping Pong, Corn Hole, Climbing wall skateboard/Razor jumps and Badminton....The Pavilion has it ALL !!
