Stand Up Paddle made renting boards easy, and they had the boards at the river waiting for us even though we decided to do this last minute. Beautiful and relaxing SUP on the Deschutes. Great experience!

Reserving a rental online through their website was super simple and easy, and I was excited that they were right there on the beach waiting for us. We will definitely rent from them again!

Renting paddle boards from Stand Up Paddle was easy, informative and no stress. We enjoyed every minute of our two hours on the river and were given helpful instructions from Chip before we started. Thanks Stand Up Paddle!

Stand Up Paddle Board was wonderful to rent from. They had reasonable prices and their staff was super friendly. We reserved paddle boards online for the same day with no issues. Chip called us 20 minutes before our reservation to make sure we knew where to meet him at Riverbend Park. All the equipment was there waiting for us and since we were able to fill out the waivers online beforehand, we didn't waste any time getting on the water. He was very professional and gave us some great pointers about the river and where to paddle. We could have spent a number of hours out on the river. I would definitely rent from them again.

The shop is located in Old Mill district and easy to find. The price for SUP rental is probably the most reasonable shop in town. By saying that, you do not need to have anything on your car to carry anything. You can change and pay inside of the shop and drive a couple of minutes to Riverbend park. There is a free parking lot and it's also right next to other parking by a shopping center in case it's full. Normally you don't get SUP instructions before going in, but the staff are really nice and will give you a quick tutorial before you go. I'd recommend going there Sundays since it's less crowded. The water is a little cold but it's great to jump in once you feel hot after being on the board for a while. I'd say there is almost no currents until you get to this mild rapid spot upstream. It's super safe, peaceful, and fun!

We found several outfitters all similarly priced. The great thing about Stand Up Paddle Bend is the online scheduling, payment, and waiver completion. The equipment (boards, paddles, vests) are in excellent condition. I would suggest calling/texting the number provided to clarify where in the park to meet. On our day, the meeting spot was a yellow umbrella chair to the far left of the loading/unloading beach (removed from the main activity). So, a moment of stress wondering if we were at the correct beach. Other than that, would definately use again!

The Deschutes river in summer is a great place to SUP, the booing online was easy, and the price I got was incredible. Get out there!

We had a large group (7 total) super easy to reserve online but not great direction on finding the actual check in point. All the reservation said was "see you at Riverbend Park", not being local, I had to look up the address because they didn't list the address, just the name. This was a bit annoying as i had my iphone only, so doing it on the fly made this process more time consuming, not a super huge issue though. Once we arrived, right on time, we walked several hundred feet around the park and parking lot looking for the check-in. We walked over to the information booth tent and they couldnt tell us where to find them, so then we went to the large Sun Country Tour check-in and they were kind enough to point to a small umbrella with a chair and 3 SUP boards. We were like really? So we waiting around for about 15 minutes and were about to leave, when I nice fellow walked up and confirmed we were at the correct spot. No sign. Nothing giving us any clue that this was Stand Up Paddle Bend company. No, "sorry I kept you waiting at a non-discript check-in." We later found out they don't have a permit to work out of the park, so really can't have signage or anything. I don't have a problem with all that, if I had some clue what i was to expect. I was with 5 impatient teenagers and all of us thought we got taken for $140 bucks. Not a fun 20 minutes searching around a large area. The man was nice though and gave us the whole hour even though he was clearly running way behind. Other than all that, boards were great for a good price. But all of the companies around there were pretty much the same price.

Having never ridden on a "SUP".. I was somewhat nervous on the possibility of ending up face first in the somewhat coolish....Deschutes River. Our host was gracious with my nervousness and offered some key tips to avoid a face plant into the river (and those pointers were welcomed as I indeed managed to stay upright). Thanks for the thoughtful instruction and encouragement.
