We called ahead and even though they said they weren't really open, they would be there bottling and to stop by.
A tiny operation a few miles out of town, this single building houses two stills and probably a dozen or more large imported French and Hungarian barrels containing various flavored brandy's, all hand mashed, cooked, distilled, aged, bottled, and labelled.
The owners walked us through their operation with great pride in describing their technique and providing a complete history of the business. (Close ties to the Gallo family)
We tasted several bottles and our favorite was definitely the limited quantity 20 year Pinot Noir Brandy. The berry liqueurs are also quite good.
We were sorry to hear that the owner was due to retire and without a buyer the operation would cease and be sold off.
We definitely recommend visiting while you can - and if you have the gumption - buy it!

What a great place! There were six of us, and the owner greeted us so warmly. He patiently waited while some in our group used the restroom. He then gave a tour and explanation of the distillery and how everything was made. He was patient with all of our questions. We were able to meet the owners wife too, who was so kind.
A tasting of all their products was only $5.00! The brandy was very, very good. And we were surprised at how good the Grappa was. Smooth and not at all like some of the rubbing alcohol flavors we've had in the past. The Blackberry Brandy was great too, and would be good over ice cream.
We purchased three bottles. These people are passionate about their brandy, and know what they are doing! We hope to call them and order more when we run out!

My husband and I visited Brandy Peak on the recommendations that I read on TripAdvisor. We were greeted outside and walked through the brandy making process. Interesting! Then we went into the tasting room and sampled their goods. And oh my was it good! Highly recommend a visit to Brandy Peak if you're in the Brookings area.

Stopped by this tiny distillery off Carpenterville Rd, north of Brookings and had their full tasting of brandies and blackberry liqueur. Pours are small and you can dump as you may need to if you're going back down the winding road sober. The Pear brandy tastes of fresh pear and is something I will add to my liquor cabinet, especially the aged brandy which I found smoother. The blackberry liqueur is just alcohol, blackberries and a little sweetener and reminded me of what my mom would make every summer. Ann, who was tending the place when I arrived gave a thorough intro to the process although she was willing to cut to the chase when necessary.

it took us over a year after having moved to brookings to make it to the family owned brandy peak distillery. my bro and his wife were here and we decided that made an excellent reason to visit.
what a pleasure it was. the whole experience. from learning the history behind the man who built the distillery and his family to the entire detailed process of the product from fruit to bottle. ann brought the presentation to life. that woman lives and breathes the entire process and knows all the intricacies of distilling pears, grapes and blackberries, and more.
not only was ann's presentation informative, but more than anything, fun! ann has a way about her that encourages questions and conversation and banter.
and then there's the tasting that takes place after you learn of all the medals, gold and double gold that have been won...natural pear and aged pear brandies, marc and grappa brandies, and then...the Pièce De Résistance...blackberry liqueur.
don't hesitate to make this a stop on your intinerary in discovering the southern oregon coast.

This was an informative, unusual excursion for the Oregon Coast. Great thing to do if it's raining and you don't feel like being out in the weather. We learned about brandy and liqueur, did a little tasting at the end (very reasonably priced). Nice, mellow people. From Brookings it took us about an hour-and-a-half to drive, tour, taste, purchase and drive back with smiles on our faces and brandy in our trunk.

This was the perfect place to warm up on a wet day.
The distillary is very easy to get to and not far from harris beach state park.
The lady working there gave us the tour, apart from feeding us with knowledge she kept us hydrated with a delicious selection (taste bud dependant) of brandys.
Small sampling room so might get busy in the summer?
Oh yeah. The blackberry liquor tastes amazing and looking forward to trying out the truffles!

You will be glad you stopped. We arrived early and waited in the parking area. The super nice person who works there arrived and opened early for us. We had a wonderful and informative tour of the facility. Then off to the tasting room. We sampled all the wonderful products, you will buy some. The Blackberry brandy was superb. We were made to feel like we stopped at a family members home for a visit.

This place was one of our favorite stops. Really friendly people to show you the process, and the tasting process was a blast. We learned a lot, too. We could have stayed all afternoon! Brandy Peak makes a really good product: we loaded up on both the natural and aged pear brandies, plus the show-stopping blackberry liqueurs, for both ourselves and as presents (let's face it, we may end up drinking the presents, too). The distillery is up quite a ways on the mountain, so do allow some time if you're planning a busy itinerary.

Had a nice visit although I don't have a classy enough pallete to enjoy Brandy as it is meant to be enjoyed. The tour was informative and the lady working was friendly and made us feel welcome even though we clearly knew nothing about brandy. The blackberry liqueur was very nice with the dark chocolate provided and I plan to pick some up for gifts. Definitely a fun excursion with warmer weather than the coast and amazing ocean views.
