对于这片还没被人说起过的美丽海滩，还可以说什么呢？迫不及待，终于亲自看到了，没有失望！尽管我们为风雨天气做好了准备，但天气变化之快还是让我们措手不及，一会儿下雨，一会儿晴，马上又下雨！！！草垛岩比我想象中要大，看到有人真的在海浪中游泳/玩耍，我震惊了。我喜欢这片开阔地，您可以走到任何您想去的地方。建议不管在海滩上走多远，都穿不露脚趾的鞋子。

很高兴我最终还是去了这里。我的电脑预加载背景图片就是用的一张草垛岩的照片，好几次我坐着的时候就在想去到那里，而不是去沉闷的办公室。我非常开心我最终能够到访这儿。它就位于加农海滩漫长、广阔的沙滩上，位置不能更好了。体积巨大的草垛岩是方圆数英里的焦点，它吸引着沙滩步行者过来，就像飞蛾扑火一样。在你意识到之前，你已经站在那里了——用你手里的相机，看着这巨石。退潮的时候，一些有趣的海潮水坑会露出来，但跟俄勒冈海岸的其他区域比起来，别的地方还是有更棒的海潮水坑的。
加农海滩的草垛岩让我想起了加利福尼亚莫罗湾的莫罗岩，但我知道他们在地质上是有一些不同的。仅供参考：莫罗岩是一个火山栓，而草垛岩是由大量的岩浆流形成的。

长长的白色沙滩，雾气笼罩着巨大的整块岩石。数以百计的海鸟成群地在岩石岛上云集和筑巢。散步后，可以去加农海滩享受晚餐或喝一杯美酒。

在坎农沙滩还有比较便利（随意停在某些地方），但这里是旅游景点整个镇都知道这里。特别区分私人入口和公众入口。通常你很容易辨别，不过海滩宽广，海浪也很舒服。你会欣赏到岩石的美丽景色。不要攀岩（不过你真的会尝试吗？），在沙滩走走比其他事有意思。然后，多逛下小镇，当然他们都知道你会这么做。

That’s a difficult one. I can tell you that we parked in the well-signposted car park and walked to the beach. We spent about half an hour walking towards and near Haystack Rock then another half hour or so walking back. To be honest you could spend all day watching the waves and scenery - or just a few minutes depending on how you feel about that. They are actively discouraging visitors to climb the rock, but it looks pretty reachable if the tide were out.

Can you park your car on this beach? Not overnight, just for a few hours during the day. We don’t want to drive around it. Just want somewhere warm to enjoy the view.

If you park on the Main Street near Haystack Rock, it’s a really short walk down to the beach.

Haystack Rock was featured in the film at the end on the beach. The cave however was a set. The cave at Haystack Rock is part of the Reserve and is off limits for entry. During super negative tides it is visible and can be viewed from the south side of the rock.

What is the parking situation at Haystack Rock in August? We will be traveling in a 28' RV from Astoria to Tillamook. We plan to stop and explore Cannon Beach and Haystack Rock for the day. Thanks

On the south end of Cannon Beach is Tolovana State Park with a parking lot next to the beach.
It can handle your RV but the lot fills early .
There is also an RV parking area in downtown Cannon Beach behind the visitors information center.

We are a family of four with two teenage girls. Is it recommended to spend the night or nights in Cannon Beach or is it possible to just spend the day there then drive back to hotel in Portland. I understand its about a 90 minute drive each way.

If you are looking to explore the tide pools the best practice is to check with the Haystack Rock Awareness Program for their beach schedule and tide tables and plan to come two hours in advance of low tide so you have sufficient time to explore before the tide comes back in. The group also accepts volunteers of all ages with no time commitments. Volunteering as a family is a great way to get to know the Rock and surrounding Marine Garden!
