I was honored to be a part of the rebuild of this structure. My crew and myself worked very carefully and with the upmost attn. to detail to complete this structure. All of the timbers were provided by Hull Oaks mill in Monroe, OR. It was part of the contract to have Hull Oaks cut and provide timbers it being one of the last steam powered mills left that could cut such massive timbers along with the historic value of the project. I had the opportunity to visit the mill before the project was underway. That was an experience in itself. My crew was top of the line to say the least. We put a lot of pride in this project to assure it came out perfect. We also had to reuse all steel hardware that was obviously made by hand back in the day. We often spoke about what kind of men first built this bridge and was in awe! Well that's about all I have on this subject for now! If you have a chance to visit this historic place, please keep in mind that crafts such as these needed to build our and keep our history together are fading fast. It takes grit and knowledge to complete this work going! It takes good teachers and young people to listen and learn such a needed craft! Thanks for reading and have a great future! There are several such covered bridges in Cottage Grove, however this one seems to be best preserved.
Not much to see, it's a 3 min photo stop. I wouldn't go out of my way to see, but CG is a small town so it was close.

I definitely give this bridge an excellent rating as it is very well kept, has great signage, and sits in a super nice little park. Super peaceful in the morning light. The railroad motif makes this one special...walking through is spectacular, and the floor has the appearance of railroad tracks. Parking is a little tough with this one. I went over the river and parked in a dead end street that enters the park.

it was a nice find for our 1st 'covered bridge' to encounter and able to walk/bike thru, and if you went thru - there's a nice wrought iron display of a 'train engine' perspective! the self-guided displays inside the bridge told of the history of that particular bridge and the stream below was running clean .

Really nice that you can walk across the bridge. If you are coming from the street side be sure to cross the bridge and check out the large history signs. They are very colorful, informative and well done.

Being a lover of all covered bridges, I never pass one bye. This bridge reflects the dedication of towns people and doners to fund and restore historical treasures. This bridge is a walk pathway across the river to and from town. A park is adjacent with large informational boards explaining its history and restoration. Standing inside the bridge, just imagine a huge locomotive coughing steam in those days gone bye.

We stopped by the Chambers Railroad Bridge on our tour of the covered bridges in and near Cottage Grove. The Chambers Bridge has the best information, both in signage inside the bridge itself and in a series of informative displays on the eastern end of the bridge. This is nice, quick stop to learn about the history of the area.
