This is a short drive from Albany and is well worth the drive that takes you into rural areas and sat there is the covered bridge just as if nothing has changed for over a hundred years

In this area from Albany, Stayton and the broader Scio Area (Lacombe, Crab Tree, etc.) there are 6 Covered Bridges called Stayton-Jordan, Hannah, Gilkey, Larwood, Hoffman and Shimanek. The history of each Bridge and a tour map can easily be found online. The Larwood bridge crosses Crabtree Creek and is adjacent to Wayside Park which is perfect for a picnic and some water activities. Take a few hours on a nice sunny day and visit all the bridges!

A nice out of the way place to go for some fresh country air or a picnic. Historic covered bridge, creek, country vistas. Not far from the fish hatchery either.

Very picturesque bridge, great photos. We saw seven of the bridges on a beautiful day in April. We were at a horse clinic and got done early so decided to drive around. It was rally fun trying to find them, kind of like a scavenger hunt. Well worth the effort.
