Antelope Creek Bridge ( Little Butte Creek)
This 58 ft queen post truss bridge originally spanned Antelope Creek and was built in 1922. Was listed on the national register in 1979.
In August 1987, the structure was loaded onto a makeshift trailer and volunteers hauled it to the city of Eagle Point, OR.
When the bridge was rebuilt at the new site, arched openings were cut into each side so school children could be watched as they crossed the span. This alteration caused the bridge to be removed from the National Register of Historic Places. Since then, the bridge has been re-sided in a fashion that represents the original design. Now only ribbon openings appear under the eves.

Pretty and well-maintained pedestrian bridge leading into town. A nice spot for a pic! Eagle Point is a sweet little town. Definitely worth a stop.

This was one of my favorite covered bridges that I visited on a tour of bridges in southern Oregon recently. There are sweet wildflowers growing nearby. I am told this bridge is was moved here from another location but it seems perfect in this spot.

This is a working bridge. People still use it to cross a river. It's not set up in a park, etc. It's pretty and so is the Little Butte Creek which it crosses. A nice quick stop.

This authentic old bridge was moved to this location from nearby. It is in excellent condition and gives one the feel of a bygone era. The ever-growing Butte Creek runs under this covered walkway, which is for pedestrians only. Check out nearby museum!
