We walked this trail from Springfield to Eugene. Really nice trail with lots of nice views. It was nice to enjoy the fresh air and watch the river rush by under the bridge. Plenty to trees to keep you shaded from the sun, and wildlife and flowers to occupy the time.

A bucket list spot for any true runner, a fabulous nature refuge for anyone who loves a good morning walk.

Pre's Trail is a local icon location for our famous Steve Prefontaine. Weather permitting it has great scenery and friendly people along the trail.

I'm a walker, Pre's Trail is great for those into exercise. There were walkers, joggers, flat out sprinters, bikers, and those that just poke along and take in the sites. There is plenty to see. You get river views, plenty of trees and green space, and beautiful views. The running/walking track is covered with mulch which softens the track but will get into your shoes - the mulch. There are paved tracks for the bikers but sometimes they ride where they want and have an attitude - but this is very rare. Beware there are homeless down near the river areas but most all are harmless. In addition you are near the football stadium and outdoor concert area.

you do not feel that you are in the middle of a medium sized city, you will see wildlife and beatiful vistas along the river and in the forest/meadows. just be aware that there are some sketchy people almost anywhere in eugenes public areas. Were i a woman i would be very aware of my surroundings and probably not go alone near dusk/dark.

I run Pre's Trail every chance I get. It's well maintained and consists of about a 4.25 mile bark-dust loop. There are shorter loops if you want a shorter run. Keep on running.

Awesome for a walk, jog or run, this is a beautifully maintained trail that is never busy and has vistas and wildlife galore--I've seen a fox several times, nutria, geese, ducks, osprey and more.

Pre's trail is flat and mostly dirt/wood chip trails along the river. It is a pleasant and easy run. Even early in the morning or towards sunset, there seemed to be others on the trail (safety in numbers). Also, I noted several light poles so it wasn't completely dark.

if you are from eugene, you understand the homeless situation. That said, I have been in some of the areas along the river and felt a little uneasy even as a male. If you do not know about the area be aware that there can be people occupying almost any niche anywhere, and some of them are not completely in their right minds.
