I can't speak for the food, was just there to pick up some assorted beers for a visit to my buddy's house. I asked for cold IPAs and was directed to a cooler with about a hundred single pints to choose from. Never seen a selection like that. I picked up 8 of all different types and we had a great time that night!

So, for $7, this establishment will sell you an 89 cent bun with two thin slices of cheese - one provolone and one cheddar. My guess is an ounce and a half by weight - tops. This is under-budgeted school lunch program or homeless kitchen quality, not even close to the simplest recipe you would find on Epicurious. Yet they get away with it.

Hi Tom,
We recently changed our bread to a locally made brioche bun which is great for some sandwiches, but (I totally agree) not great for a grilled cheese at all. I'm happy to refund the price of your meal or buy your next one. Anyways, hope you'll give us another shot and/or forgive our failure on the grilled cheese - we've got lots of other sandwiches and crepes that are far more substantial. Thank you for your feedback!

The Willemette St. 16 Tons was becoming a regular lunch spot until they started getting "creative" with their ingredients. What had been fantastic a turkey-based Flying Pig sandwich and a roll-up offering are now made with half-inch thick, cross-cut slabs of chicken breast that require a knife and fork. These two items should not be as labor intensive a lunch experience as they now are.
And the once exceptional Nutella crepe first morphed into something cobbled together with their "homemade hazelnut chocolate spread" - flavorless, sugared goop. Then they switched to mini-semisweet chocolate chips sprinkled on one half of the crepe, the other half liberally dabbed with salted butter. It's even worse than the faux-Nutella: the salt from butter is the predominant flavor, These little changes came about without any editing of the menu to give you a hint. Restaurant customers expect continuity in their dining experience: you don't radically screw around with key menu offerings like these.

Tripadvisor did not have the South location in it's database so i'll rave about it here. This place is a winner for many reasons: 1. decent size tables that allow one to relax, set up computers or read an old fashioned paper with your friends while you hang out and drink coffee. 2. BUCKWHEAT CREPES!!! I love them--i don't order white flour pancakes or crepes, so this is a great bonus. stuffed with banana and nutella--yum! 3. outdoor shaded seating for dry days 4. a relaxed atmosphere where one can linger over a meal or drink. Give 'em a try, I bet you'll like it.

You may know 16 Tons for their wonderful micro Brew and come here for the relaxed atmosphere and the location away from the newly trendy downtown Eugene.
But few realize 16 tons is a top family destination if your kids like crepes ( like mine do)! Try the savory country crepe or s sweet lemon crepe with your wanderering goat latte. Sublime.

Great selection, fair prices.

I came here for their Happy Hour on Friday nights. It was great. This place is a coffee shop by day, and they serve wine and beer at night. They served generous samples of wine, and it was quite reasonable to purchase a glass or two. I'd love to go again.

What can I say? I like beer. They sell beer. Pretty much only beer. I stopped by here about a week ago for beer (no kidding). Guess what? They had a bunch of beer and even after I bought some, they had more.
I was there that day for filling my camping cooler with cans of beer. I'm into cans, as they travel well and easier to get rid of. Emily, their beer sommelier, came up with nice picks for me, like Leinenkugel's summer shandy, and Bitburger.
There's a 100 character minimum here, so I will add that the playlist can get old. Nobody's perfect. Sometimes my playlist gets old. It's a bit heavy into the garage band/indie/clash realm. In case the owner's read my review...play the hell out of Van Morrison and keep selling beer, and you got yourself a winner. Keep it Simple (Van Morrison), English bitters, German lagers, farmhouse beers and that's all you need for my kids to have no $$ for college.

Great atmosphere & generous samples for beer-tasting & experimenting ... One entire wall is lined with hundreds of bottles of beer--impressive! The outside facade isn't much to look at & the inside is a bit noisy, but they make up for that with their beer-selections!
