Way overrated. Not much to see at all. The stuff that they do have is very lame, not much talent at all. Honestly, the place was not even worth the cheap $5 admission. I am glad that I did not pay for parking.

"The Schnitzer" is a treasure. I bring my Mom here once a month to see the new exhibits. Highly recommend to anyone visiting UO, as it is right in the center of campus.

A great little museum! We've seen amazing Russian iconography from the 14th century and the Barbarini tapestries, which are so astonishing they defy description! Such an unusual mix of modern and ancient, worldly and community. Wonderful Americana, native art, student contributions, and international contributions. I feel so lucky to have this in my neighborhood, and at such an affordable price. Please visit. It's very worth your time.

Вот чем хорош северо-запад США: ходишь себе, гуляешь, наслаждаешься заповедной природой... решаешь зайти в местный небольшой музей. И вдруг натыкаешься на настоящую Жемчужину - восхитительную по форме и содержанию выставку Ральфа Стедмана. Замечательного художника, иллюстратора, постоянного Gonzo-соратника Хантера Томпсона. Огромное спасибо организаторам за полученное удовольствие!

Dropped by this hidden cafe for lunch and it did not disappoint. The menu is simple and fresh. I ordered the Quiche du jour which was Squash & Chèvre, served with field greens and baguette. Meal arrived in about 10 minutes.
Seating area is good, holds about 60 people but was loud during the lunch hour. Lots of 2 person tables, a few larger tables that can be used by a group or several singles. Good variety.
Hidden gem for leisurely lunch with a friend or solo.
*On my way out I rounded out my meal with a TomBumble bar (divine!)

A charming museum with a very eclectic permanent collection. They had a small selection of impressionists on a 100-day loan while I was there (Manet, Picasso, etc). They do have an extensive Asian collection. Unfortunately when I was there in September 2019 those rooms were closed for renovation. However, a limited number of Asian pieces were on view in a separate gallery. If visiting Eugene, I would very much recommend spending an hour at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum.

This was a very nice exhibit on the university campus. I would have given five stars, but one of the Asian exhibits was closed. They were doing some repairs during summer break. All the others were beautiful, interesting and thought provoking. This and the geologic museum are worth the stop. The price is very affordable.

Some of the most powerful images I've seen. Very moving. I had no idea I would see a monet and a Warhol in the same museum. It's totally worth checking out.

Sometimes smaller galleries (compared to the mammoth national galleries in capital cities) can be more enjoyable experiences. You don't feel overwhelmed, and you can have a look at the whole gallery in one visit. And they're often not too busy. This is definitely the case with JSMoA.
Whilst not all of the artworks were to my taste (I doubt I will ever get excited by old religious art, or rubbish reworked as art), there was plenty that definitely was beautiful.
The staff member was extremely welcoming, which is always a good start.
If you're at all interested in art, make a trip to the edge of town to check out JS.

Nice art museum on campus of UofO with a lot of variety.
Asian art including samurai artifacts to towering jade sculptures to Picasso's. A lot of diversity but all of it interesting and worth while. Enjoyable museum and cute courtyard. The coffee shop is inviting with lots of areas seeming to encourage staying and chatting.
Visited on a weekend and parking at the meters was free right out front. During the week, there are free parking spots if you get a pass from the museum.
