I was looking for beads to embellish my ballroom competition dress and had no idea what to do. I picked out some beads and then found out they were not the right shape for what I needed to do. Nancy took me under her wing and helped select the right kind and colors and suggested some designs. She even let me exchange some of the previous beads I bought for other ones that would work better. I so appreciate her help and service. She has been a life saver. I highly recommend Harlequin Beads & Jewelry.

Bought several beautiful and whimsical beads, some turquoise and polished stones. Wonderful staff and great prices. Would definitely recommend.

I live in Portland and got on-line yesterday to find bead stores in Eugene as I planned to meet a friend in town there for lunch today and knew I would have some extra time to do a little bead shopping. A Yelp review on this bead store made me a little concerned as the writer said something to the effect that she felt she was "followed around the store as if (she) was there to steal". Since I have shopped at many different bead stores as well as at a ton of bead shows, and have never felt any undue observation by staff, I decided to stop by and just see if I would feel any of what this other reviewer felt. A staff member greeted me when I entered the store, and then when I asked for help finding a certain color of beads to match a sweater I had with me, she tried her best to find and to offer me several different options. Not once did I feel like I was being "followed" or that they were expecting me to try to steal anything from the store. Before I left with my purchased beads, I mentioned the review to my staff helper, and told her that I had had a great experience in their store. She knew exactly which review I was talking about and expressed her desire then as well as with me today to just be of help to a customer. I liked the store's selection of beads and supplies, and I liked the staff, all of whom tried to be helpful without being intrusive in any way.

The moment you peek in the front windows of the Harlequin Beads & Jewelry in the heart of downtown Eugene, you will surely enter this dazzling shop! The knockout hand-made jewelry – alone – will make your head spin. I was blown away by the gold embroidered amulet purses. If you are already a “beader” – you’ll surely get mesmerized by the sparkle & gorgeous arrays of colorful beads, crystals, locally crafted lampwork pendants, & oh – so many charms! Enthusiastic staff are right there to answer any questions, and amazingly, even take the time to help you finish a piece of jewelry you are stuck on. I was visiting for a few weeks, and couldn’t stay away from this store! The “Harlequin Beading Circle” meets once a week, where locals readily share their beading knowledge, ideas, and jewelry passions. Classes are also available at the store, and if you check their website – they have some great online videos. Across from the store, on Oak Street, is a conveniently located Parking Garage – with the first hour free on weekdays (& 2nd hour free with a ticket validation when you make a purchase from Harlequins), and free all day on weekends. I couldn’t resist the “raspberry-lined” Miyuki beads and the new 24K gold-plated Super Duos!
