We were in Eugene for a few days to see the eclipse up in Corvallis. We needed to get some energy out of our kids and we to this community pool near by. Its fantastic they have 50mx20m lap pool that is designated for diving, lap and rec. The diving end has 2 1m spring boards, 5m platform and also a water slide. Then there is another waterslide. Kiddy pool, hot tub.
Something for everyone, has a large grassy area, lots of shaded canopies around. Great place!!!

Just completed a swim meet at this pool and it was super. The facility is clean and well run. There are several pools and additional attractions. The hosting team provided excellent support and even the weather cooperated. The only detractor is a lack of adequate parking.

How can you NOT have a good time?! Great place on a hot summer day! Be advised: they charge for entry whether you swim or not. My kids granny came to watch them and had to pay the entry fee even though she didn't touch the water. Get there early as the line to get in stretches around the building most days.

Amazon Pool is Eugene's only outdoor public swimming pool but it is treated by the city as a treasure. And it is.
Named Amazon Pool because it is located in Amazon Park very close to the Wetlands and the famous Amazon Running Trail. Surrounded by natural beauty, the pools are tucked into a convenience corner between Hilyard and the bike trail.
They are only open from Memorial Day to Labor Day for public swimming (they stay filled slightly longer for the swim team competitions in the fall. But during those summer months Amazon is an oasis in the endlessly dry sunny day of Oregon summers. 4 pools in total including a baby pool, a pool for smaller kids with a twisty slide, and a full length pool which switches between long laps lanes and short lanes with a diving end and a play area for teens.
There are two short dive boards, a dive platform and a high dive AND a high drop slide.
The pool is spotted with colorful umbrellas and ringed with grassy sunbathing and picnic areas.
The old snack bar was recently contracted out to Mame, a delicious asian fusion food joint which offers healthy choices and huge snow cones.
If there were 6 stars I would give them. I've never been to such a well maintained and beautiful public pool anywhere.
