When I write it's the best dive bar I mean it as a compliment. Since my last visit they have added inside light deco that adds so much to the experience.
The location is an easy walk from the bus station. The lounge (bar) opens at 4 pm and immediately a happy hour starts. Always a gin or vodka martini, red wine, or some micro-brew for $4. A happy hour runs the entire time the bar is open well at least until midnight.
Lots of seating and couch type conversation areas. It appears a lot of folks come in to play the gambling machines. The machines are located in the back so not distracting at all.
I have always found the bartenders to be pleasant and working hard. Usually one on duty at 4 pm so tip nicely and show appreciation.
There is outside seating in the back. I assume for those that smoke. I have never been out there. I have never been in the evening hours so this review is based on visits between 4-6 pm.
You can't come to Eugene without visiting the Starlight Lounge!

Somewhat cozy. They had some kind of an art/painting event going on, so that was a little unusual. Worth a stop in and drink

From the dark, comfy interior to the nicest bartenders in Eugene, I love everything about the Starlight Lounge. Yummy cocktails, interesting liquors, and loads of local and awesome beers. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful with suggestions. My favourite bar to visit in Eugene.

much better choices like luckeys and cowfish one block away. poor service, rude staff. don't bother.

This place is good to stop at for drink specials. Not a huge fan of the atmosphere or crowd, but the bartenders are nice

Entering this lounge is like taking a trip back in time. Walking in you will find a dark lounge type atmosphere. You almost expect a piano bar.
I have been going here for a few years and the staff has always been welcoming and friendly. The $3 martini's are made exactly as you prefer them. There is always a happy hour. One type of brew that is all day and usually $3. The lounge opens at 4 pm and immediately you find $3 martini's and a local micro-brew pint for $3.
Goes to explain why the Starlight Lounge was voted best Happy Hour in Eugene, Oregon. At one point in the evening for one hour patron shots for $3.
I have never been there past 6 pm so no idea of what atmosphere later evening offers. I would suspect a college student type age.
Pool tables can be rented by the hour. Outside seating for those that have not been able to give up smoking.
It is a true experience and one I would encourage visitors to try. A short 4 or 5 minute walk from the bus station.
