We visited Tendril Wine Cellars as part of our weekend in the Willamette Valley. I can’t say enough good things about not only the wines, but Tony and his approach to the art of wine making. He explained the many aspects behind his decisions for the large variety of wines we tasted. We walked out with 6 bottles from pinots to even a cab and white pinot and a wine club membership as everything was truly wonderful. Be sure to make an appointment with Tony on your next visit to the Oregon wine country.

Tony Rynder was the winemaker for Domaine Serene for over 10 years and one of Willamette Valley's top winemakers for over 20 which comes through in his wines. We tasted 5 of his wines - 1 from his new label Child's Play, a 2014 Pinot Noir Rose - which was excellent - more structured than normal but a lovely wine far above the normal OR rose's. We tasted 3 2012 Pinot Noirs which were magnificent big Pinots! The 2012 C-Note Pinot Noir is a huge wine that needs another 2-5 years before being at its best. Don't think I have tasted a Pinot quite like this - amazing. C-Note stands for the number of cases as well as the price! Finished with the 2013 Tendril Pretender White Pinot Noir which shows both the white & red characteristics of the grape - super. A fabulous tasting.
