Had a great room. Not crowded at all. Only dining out. Had 1 sweet weather day.
Timberline only one running chair lifts.
Food is a little overpriced. Overall good.

I’m a beginner, I’d only ever had a couple of group lessons the previous day at Skibowl West.
Dion at Summit Ski was an excellent trainer - patient, knowledgable and ensured I understood the fundamentals. By the end of the one-hour lesson, I was able to do a green run twice in a row without stopping (or falling!).
The slopes at Summit Ski were the appropriate steepness for my skill level. The green runs at Skibowl West were too steep for me.

We rode as far as we could go then hiked a bit more. Slid down a snow chute- watching for boarders coming fast. Checked out wild flowers we’d never seen before. Marveled at the variety of stones that make up the mountain. Dress warmly- the wind can be significant. Carry energy snacks and water. Be safe!

I’m an older adult skier that was looking for green/blue runs with nice views while I work on getting back in shape for more challenging terrain.
This was a great place to get back in to it.
As a solo I have been there several times and each time the staff made me feel incredibly welcome, even occasionally offering encouragement and tips (how to better enter/exit the lift). Protip - the chili!
On the last day of the season, they did a nice fundraiser and it was almost hard to say goodbye. I moved on to get a pass at Timberline for the rest of the season.
The runs are big and spacious. The lift is a little slower and the views are amazing. If you are an older skier wanting to return this is the spot to start.

All the staff are amazing here and very helpful and if you are going with your kiddos try out the inter tube sledding area it’s great or if you enjoy snowboarding or want to ski check out the great lifts. Parking does fill up fast even in the morning time and this place is very busy but it’s my favorite place to go

Awesome choices from here for noric skiing and snowshoeing. The paths are very clearly marked and trails are easy to follow. If you go on the national park site there are also trail maps for the whole area and you can kind of plan which routes to take depending on how many miles you want to explore. Even during a snow storm I had very little trouble navigating with all the signage and posts. I highly recommend this place for nordic skiing and snowshoeing for all levels

This place was tons of fun even at the end of season. The staff was so helpful explaining all the snow parks and how they worked, helping us determine the best thing to do during our stay.
It was a great place for beginnimg/learners. Pretty fair price..2 kids was $25 for entry and tube rentals..though one of my kids was free. Parking pass was an additional $7 but it is good to get you into any snow park like snow bunny and white River down the road.
Perfect place for kids if you don't want to spend the really big bucks on the bigger slopes up the mountain.

We have been skiing here with out family for 2 years (kids age 9, 8, and 5) now and we all love it!!! Uncrowded. Very friendly and helpful staff, good food at reasonable prices at the grill, tasty hot chocolate. This is a great place for older kids that are just learning as well! Plus, they have VALUE Fridays- a lift ticket for $15. Cheapest rental on the mountain as well.

During previous trips to the Portland area, I would occasionally visit Mt Hood Ski bowl, or Mt. Hood Meadows, for a single day of ski. I got good enough to go down all green tracks, and some of the blue ones. In recent years, I have not had the chance to go skiing, and so, several years have passed without me hitting the slopes (and not getting any fitter during this time). At the same time, the prices for lift tickets and equipment rentals have almost doubled, making the whole one-day ski outing even less appealing.
I was, therefore, quite glad to find out that the Summit Ski area offered me a full day (6 hours, to be more precise), for under $70 (more than what I payed the first time in Ski Bowl, but much less than what they charge now).
The place is small. It caters to families with children, has a single (slow) lift, one green track and 2 or 3 blue ones. Small size has its advantages, too, though, and arriving in mid-morning, parking right next to the lift tickets office (and rental shop) was readily available. It was a beautiful day, too, so it's not like the visitors were chased away by the weather. I had no wait time at all for buying tickets or for equipment rental. The staff here was really friendly towards me - much more so than the staff in the other sites in the vicinity ever were. I guess their family orientation plays a part in that.
The lift is a slow double chair, which takes almost 10 minutes to reach the top. It slows down occasionally, when really small children need help of the chair at the top, so be prepared for that. There were about 40 people in total the day I was there, so there were no lift lines, but that would have probably been the case even if several hundreds of people would have been there, as most chairs were vacant all of the time.
The green track, which was the one I used, is a wide one, with varying rates of descent, starting out quite gradually, and working its way to a nice, fast, and wide are in the middle to bottom part. As a novice skier, returning to the sport after more than 5 years, I found this a perfect fit. I ended up doing 15 minutes rounds - 10 minutes going up, followed by 4-5 minutes going down, and enjoying myself thoroughly.
If you are looking for an occasional day of ski for infrequent beginners, or if you want to teach your kids how to ski, this place is really great. If you are a more serious skier, you would have to pay close to double in one of the larger areas in this environment. I know that the other side of Mt Hood hosts Cooper's Spur ski area, but I have never visited that one, and it seems to open later in the season, due to less snowfall.

This review is for skiing only. Got there at 8:30 and was one of maybe 4 customers in the little lodge building. Got rentals, lessons, and lift tickets for all 4 of us in our family by 9am when the lessons and lifts started. No doubt we would have still been in the parking lot had we gone to Meadows, followed by maybe 1.5-2hrs standing in the rental line.
Of course, the skiing is nothing compared to Meadows, but for the beginners in the family and impatient dad who has painful memories of full parking lots / waiting in lines / not skiing until 11:30 after arriving at 9am, this was a huge relief. One lift was good enough for our beginner sons.
The skiing crowd was fairly light, compared with other times we had been there. No huge wait for the grill, lift lines, or rentals. A very nice surprise.

Sorry I can't remember for sure. The govt camp office across the parking lot might have had wifi, but you should probably call them to confirm.
