Great microbrew selection and nice indoor/outdoor seating. You can bring your pet. Parking can be tight but it is free. They have water station on side of bar so you can try different microbrews and stay hydrated. Worth a try while in Hillsboro, OR.

We visited Orenco Taphouse for their cider event. At the event there were 26 ciders on tap. For $20 we received an event glass plus 12 tickets, each good for a 4 oz pour (with the exception of 4 ciders which required 2 tickets). We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with friendly servers and great ciders.
For those in the group who preferred a brew the Taphouse was perfect, offering a wide range of locally and regionally made beers.
There are outside picnic tables as well as indoor tables plus a stash of games inviting you to stay a while. Often food carts are there for evening and weekend events. The Taphouse welcomes food as they don't serve anything but bar snacks.

They have a good beer collection. There's no food though but you can order them from nearby places and they'll be delivered.

This is a great little neighborhood place to stop for a good cold craft brew. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. Let them know what you like and they'll pull a couple of samples to let you hone in on a selection. Reasonable prices, both indoor and outdoor seating, and great service -- a tough combination to beat. The one downside is that food is not available (but you can bring your own in).

We had taken the MAX light rail into Portland and then we were returning to where we parked our car. Because we had all-day passes for the train, we could disembark and and re-board at will. Our day in Portland was cut short because of a weird circumstance, so we thought we would find some place along the way to get a drink. A quick look on Google maps found the Orenco Taphouse close to the light rail stop. We walked in and were greeted immediately by the cheerful owner, Dirk. Because there were just a few patrons at that point, he took the time to explain the many choices of beers on tap of which there were 20. As well, there are 4 choices of wine, cider and bottled beer in a cooler. From our conversation I discovered that Dirk was a former competitor in home brew contests. I'm an IPA guy, so I was offer 5 choices to sample for free and my wife was offered the same for her preference to a lighter beer. The prices are very competitive with other establishments with the highest price for a pint coming in at $5.50. The selection is constantly rotating and is prominently displayed on a giant electronic reader board centered over the bar. Each selection has the name of the brewery it's from, the name of the beer (or wine) along with the type of beer (IPA, stout, wheat, etc.) the alcohol content, and where the location of the brewery is. The reader board updates every time when a sale is made through the POS system in place, informing the reader the quantity of beer remaining. Nice touch indeed. We sat at the bar, however there is ample seating available for about 50+ people. There are tables on the sidewalk when the weather permits for outside seating.
There are no minors permitted as this is basically a place that serves only alcohol. There is no food available, but patrons are welcome to bring in outside food to consume with their favorite libation. This establishment is geared toward the neighborhood crowd. This place is in the middle of a very high density housing area so parking is limited. I suggest taking the light rail to visit this place. The atmosphere is great and the patrons are friendly. I will definitely go back and visit again.

This place is a hidden-in-plain-sight gem! Its got an real industrial cozy look going on that makes it cozy with a hint of edge to it. There's outdoor seating on both sides of the building for anyone who's feeling that, but we sat inside to enjoy the atmosphere. They have a great selection of rare/odd beers on tap. I went with a Prickly Pear sour beer that I did not particularly like, but it was fun to try. Based on the amazing selection of beers I will definitely be back to try some more beers and find some great new flavors.I should also mention that they have a great little selection of some odd and unique bottled beers.

My wife and I visited the Orenco Taphouse yesterday as we walked around the fast growing Orenco neighborhood. We just happened to walk by as the owner, Dirk, began to unlock the front door at 2:00 pm. We greeted him and asked if he was open to which he said, he opens at 3:00 pm, but if we wanted a beer we were welcome to come inside. He later clarified that if he's there, he's open for business and always loves the opportunity to meet new people.
As we sat down we noticed the place was nicely appointed and only does one thing, and that is to sell beer with a little wine thrown in for good measure. We learned a great deal in a short time from Dirk who left Intel to open this business. He told us it took a little bit of convincing for his wife that still works for Intel to open the business, but in 2013 they did just that. The first year, Dirk and his wife spent a lot of time, along with blood, sweat and tears to get the business off the ground. This included personally completing all of the interior finishes which are warm and inviting.
When asked about food, Dirk told us his passion is beer and people, but not necessarily in that order. He maintains he will never serve food and if you ask him, he will tell you why. Dirk was very transparent about his business and really has the gift of gab. We enjoyed our visit to the Orenco Taphouse which has been open for about 3 years. In the end we learned a little something about opening a taphouse, the beer was cold, and the atmosphere and conversation were terrific. We will be back!

We came 09:00 pm on Thursday. It was pretty busy, but could find a place easily. The atmosphere is good, the beer list and status is helpful and cool.
All of the beer we tasted were very good.
The owners were very nice, offering to help with choosing the right beers for us. Including a tray with different types for testing.
Nothing to eat beside some snacks, which is exactly what you need when drinking beer.
Would come again!

They serve beer and don't have food but you can bring your own. You can also have your pet inside and outside. Staff is very friendly and they have 20 beers on tap with craft beers plus bottled beer

Walked here twice from the neighboring apartments while visiting the area. Lots of beer selection, very friendly and helpful bartender. They don't sell food, but you can bring food in. Dogs are also welcome inside and outside. Not a lot of decor, but a pleasant place to hang out.
