Lugar de fácil acesso onde vc consegue praticar vários esportes aquáticos no rio Colúmbia e as crianças conseguem aproveitar Também. Água muito gelada.

The guy my husband spoke to laughably called them the best outfitter on the river. We have a 12 year old who windsurfed last summer and loved it. Unfortunately that wasn't his experience this time. We were told it would be a group of kids - he was the only kid; we were told there'd be no more than 4 to a group - there were 7. There were 2 instructors who barely paid any attention to him. One instructor helped a little bit when she finally noticed he was struggling off to the side of the group, after my husband gestured to her for help.The other guy did absolutely nothing. My husband had to go out to get him from the river at the end. He came out very discouraged. They can only still be in business due to unsuspecting tourists who have learned a lesson to check the reviews next time.

Hood River WaterPlay is a wonderful demonstration of incompetence at its finest on the shores of the beautiful Hood River.
Negatives:
1. We waited 45 minutes to get our kayaks/boards/jet skis after getting there, despite it not being particularly busy.
2. Asked if they had a 2 person kayak and guy said he had to check. Came back 15 min later and when we asked if it was available, he said someone else had to check.
3. Didn't have the right price for the jet ski in the pamphlet. After we rented it they told us there was an additional $25 charge for gas that wasn't written down.
4. We asked if there were seats for the 2 person kayak and the guy helping us didn't know. He went back to ask, eventually brought seats, but then they were broken so we couldn't use them.
5. The one guy assigned to help us had a broken hand and couldn't actually carry any kayaks, and didn't offer an alternative when we needed help.
6. The guy helping us just told us to get in the water and go, with no instruction. Later someone else came over and told us where we were allowed to go and that we were getting in the kayaks wrong, which was completely omitted before.
7. Didn't assemble windsurfer correctly so the sail fell off.
8. Gave us no instruction for how to bring back the equipment and when we asked what to do with the jet ski they just seemed confused.
Positives:
1. Water sports are inherently fun so once we were finally out we enjoyed it.
2. Beautiful setting on the Hood River.
3. Staff were friendly.

I disregarded the negative reviews I had read, and thought that they could not be right, and I was excited to arrive at Columbia River Gorge and go windsurfing. Very poor judgement on my part.
This may be a suitable operation for beginner windsurfers with low expectations of the equipment, location and service.

we stayed in Hood Rover for a couple of days with our kids, and wanted to "feel" the water a little bit. The staff at Waterplay was very helpful and nice (especially Izabel) both on the phone and when we got there. They have a lovely private beach next door to the Best Western (where there is a very nice restaurant to have lunch in...). We rented a 3 sitter jetski and to SUP paddle boards. The equipment was high quality and the prices for the rentals very reasonable. Above all - water sports on the river is really fun !!

We rented paddle boards from Hood River Water Play on 2 occasions, and it COULD be a good experience under the right conditions. Our first experience started out terribly when we encountered a very disgruntled and rude employee. We were so upset we almost left, but I'm glad we didn't because the conditions were perfect and it ended up being a fun day. The second experience was a fail: We were given gift certificates based on the poor service our first time around, but we didn't realize they had expired. They were not honored; we rented anyway, but it was so windy that we could not leave the little swim area at the beach, but were charged full price, even though we were told that they might "close" paddle boarding because of the wind conditions. Very frustrating. However, I think if you plan for the conditions and get paired with the right initial instructor, you could have a great day on the water. I would just advise paying full price for a day when you can't even leave the shore -- it ends up being a waste of money.

What a great afternoon playing on the Columbia. I was prepared to be freezing while taking the wind surfing lesson but I was pleasantly surprised how the wet suit kept me warm! Our instructor Jamie was patient and attentive; I highly recommend the full 3 hour lesson as you need that time to practice I finally mastered the turn! Challenging yet so fun!

They were very nice, charged for 2hr rental (told us to keep it till closing (3hr) and helped us with the best place to use the equipment with our 4yr old son. Will definitely use again!

I had called and made a reservation to use their paddle boards and the gal I dealt with was very polite and helped me with everything. She told us we were to be back by 4:45 just before they closed! We enjoyed our time on the river! But when we returned the boys working down by the river with the boards seemed very frustrated and told us that we should have been back by 4:30. I told him the gal told us the time she did. I was the only lady in our party and tugging the board out of the water alone was a little difficult because I had never done it before! The friends I was with had their own boards to deal with. No one greeted us as we arrived back or offered to help anyone bring the boards in. The boys just stood at the little booth watching us as be tugged them up. It was very uncomfortable. But what I mostly felt disappointed about was that one of the boys told us if we just gave him a 10 (dollar bill) we could call it good for being late! I told him The lady told us 4:45 and I had double checked on that time. He said she was incorrect for doing that! Very unorganized, it was a nice day the boys wanted to leave early and tried to scam us out of money! Never will go again there is another rental center down by the windsurfing launch. Don't go to Hood River Water Play, very small, not much business, and dealing with teenagers who don't care is not in our books!
