I make a special trip from the Heights of Hood River twice a month to buy a fresh pie. The Marionberry Pie is a classic, and Strawberry Peach andthe Blueberry with the crispy top are also great. Wonderful jams, milkshakes and cones from home-made ice cream.
And then there's the wonderful staff!

What a lovely store set in the middle of the fruit loop! Milkshakes are simply amazing and worth the drive from Portland!

Such a fun and welcoming store. We stopped in on our way to a day of wine tasting. We picked up several different jams and sauces to bring home to family as gifts. The staff were very nice and gave us tips and suggestions. Loved this experience. Oh and the little honey sticks were a HUGE hit with the kids. Can't wait to break into these jams (we kept a couple for ourselves).

Cute country store that sells all the jams they make plus other gifts. The staff was friendly and the pumpkin shakes are amazing. Made with real pumpkin, not fake flavoring. Small outside area to walk around and chill while you enjoy that shake.

I've known for years that huckleberry milkshakes are a specialty here but have never tried one. It takes a little while for them to be made, but that provides a wonderful opportunity to taste the many samples of jams and preserves.
Huckleberries are a specialty of the area in the summer, and the milkshakes we ordered did not disappoint! Marionberry milkshakes and root beer floats are also available. One of us had a fruit hand pie, which she (who also happens to be a superb cook) thought it was great. As others have mentioned, tables outside provide shade and a lovely place to enjoy the snacks on a very hot, humid day.

We love this place. The pies are amazingly delicious! That have oodles of home made jams and mustard and an amazing Horseradish sauce. Always feel like I am living back in time when I visit. It’s a must see quaint country store when visiting beautiful Hood River!

We stopped on the fruit loop here and enjoyed the quaint country store. They sell pies, jellies, syrups and many more homemade style items. Very nice visit!

Neat little place with homemade jellies, jams and sauces. Relaxing outdoor patio a to sit and walk by the river. Homemade milk shakes or soda ice cream floats.

We love stopping at the Apple Valley Country Store. Such a cute store and so many yummy things to try. Very well done and worth checking out.

While doing the "Fruit Loop" drive, we made this our last stop. We almost passed it by because we were weary of the stops. So glad we stopped. Best ... absolutely the best homemade pie we have had in years. Although it is a small store, they have several unique items including sugar free jams and jellies. Bar none, these were the best sugar free jams we have ever tasted. There are also gift items and home sewn items. So, make this a must stop ... it will be a favorite stop of yours.
