We came here on Wednesday, July 21. They charge $5 per person. If you want photos of lavender with Mt Hood in the background, this is the place. Of course, check the weather and pick a good day. Having been to the Lavender Fields in Provence, it's not really a fair comparison but having Mt Hood in the background is really nice.

Please be aware if you go to the Lavender Valley in Hood River. I followed the signs to the field one afternoon then drove in after the sweet girl at the gate said seniors don’t have to pay the $5 admission. Score one for being old!
Took out my gear including my tripod and shot about 50 images. Had to leave at 4:30 as they close to the general public. Found out later if you want the best light you pay much, much more than the $5.
Stopped in the shop on the way out where the lady behind the counter said to shoot there with a tripod I have to pay $50. I was dumbfounded! She went on to say if I hand hold the camera or use a cell phone it’s okay to shoot. And if I don’t pay I have to delete the images. Thing is there was nothing saying this at the gate and there was a small building with an employee in the field by the prime spot. He said nothing to me. She said it explains all this on the website and insisted I bring my camera in and delete the images so she could verify I did so.
So bit of a wasted afternoon except for it being a lovely view. Crazy windy but still it is beautiful.
Then this really upsets me as I looked at their website. There is absolutely nothing about a $50 charge for using a tripod during their regular hours unless you drill down to their 'Photography Tab'. So I was bullied into deleting all the images unjustly. I don’t like being jerked around like this.
This could have been easily solved by the owner of this property if they make it clear either by a sign at the gate or the person at the gate explaining the rules. The other thing that irritates me is I mentioned the lack of a sign or being given information prior to entering the fields to the person in the shop. I really feel to create some good customer service she should have not insisted so hard on going to my car and bringing in my camera to delete my images.

Wonderful stop and gift shop. A must stop on the fruit loop for picture taking amd views. Gift shop girl was attentive and knowledgeable. They let you walk through the lavendar fields, no charge.

While driving the 35 mile "Fruit Loop" of wineries and orchards, we made Lavender Valley one of our stops. this is a beautiful place for a rest stop and you can walk through the lavender fields and take pictures for free. I believe there is another lavender Field on the loop that charges a minimal entrance fee. The views and vistas are beautiful with mount Hood in the background. There is a small gift shop that sells lavender merchandise that they make themselves. Worth a stop if you are in the neighborhood or looking for lavender products.

I think my expectations were just too high or maybe we came too early in the year? We visited the south of France a few years ago and loved the extensive lavender fields there. We were hoping to relive that memory but Lavender Valley was just not the same. The lavender looked kind of pale and the farm was smaller than we envisioned. I don't want to discourage anyone from visiting, the location is absolutely beautiful and socially distancing is easy to do here, so it feels safe to visit. Just temper your expectations.

I had really bad experience when we try to visit this place 2 weekends ago. We drove a RV, and the guy at the gate was very nice, but the parking lady re-directed me to a spot that I could not fit my RV, so I parked at the side. The a manager come over ask me to move to a spot, I said how could I fit the car here? Then he said we are not welcome and ask us to leave. He even drove his golf cart and hit me when he passed me. I would have made sure he would not get up had I not with my family. He was a really bad ass. Maybe the fact that we are Asians had something to do with this. I will try to contact BBB to file a complaint. I would have given 0 star if I could.

I never realized how beautiful symmetrical rows of blooming lavender could be. Stunning purples pleasing the eye and sweet smells filling the air, all with spectacular panoramic views of Mt. Hood as the backdrop. We purchased a bouquet for $12 and found both the staff and the establishment to be top notch. I highly recommend a visit to Lavender Valley while on the Fruit Loop, or as a single stop destination on the way to or from Hood River and Timberline Lodge!

We stopped here on our way to wine tasting. There's a very tiny shop with a rather large lavender field with a great view of Mt Hood. Highly recommend stopping here. The drive is very scenic too.

A lovely place to visit in the summer, with stunning vistas. If you are allergic to bees be very careful as they are attracted to lavender!

On our fruit loop drive we had to stop and check out the lavender field. It was beautiful, the smell delightful and you could hear the hum of all the bees. They sell products made from their lavender. Friendly owners who are willing to answer any questions. Worth a stop!

Will the lavender still be blooming around the first week of August?

Yes! That is when we were there and it was lovely!
