Best Kiteboarding Instruction Ever

After taking 2 lessons at another hood river school last summer and several lessons outside the US, I returned to the Gorge and luckily found New Wind. Hands down, Jim is the best instructor ever. I progressed more in one lesson with Jim than multiple lessons elsewhere. He immediately identified what I needed to do, or not do, or do differently, and explained it to me in a way I could easily understand, then coached, corrected and encouraged me. Some people are great kiteboarders but not great instructors. Jim is both.
Also, having a radio helmet really helps. I've now done it both ways, and having real time input makes a huge difference

The best instructors in Hood River

My goal was to be up in two lessons and Danny helped with that. The entire crew made it a safe, fun and memorable experience. The instructors work at the pace that is comfortable for both parties. If you are hesitating at all about trying this sport, talk to the people at new wind, they will support you every step of the way.

Brilliant Kiteboarding School at Hood River.

We were looking for a kite school in Hood River that would take an 11 and 13 year old and get them up on the boards in a few days. Danny did a great job and both progressed to a level where they are confident with the kite and capable of water starting. Courtney was super helpful and did everything to accommodate us as the wind conditions changed times and dates. This is a great school given the Gorge can be challenging in terms of conditions for riding. Thanks New Wind.
