We intentionally searched this tasting room out, but found the building empty and locked. Then we checked their website (should have done so first) and they only list their original Underwood WA location.

Stopped to taste a flight of wine. Excellent arrangement - they gave me a dish with pairing snacks to complement each wine tasted. Great idea, I wish California tasting venues did the same. Great space as well. Plenty of room and big tables. Even having board games to pass the time added to the experience. The wines were outstanding. The only fly in the ointment was the displayed art. One piece will haunt me - the nude being violated by a skeleton in a graveyard. Lotsa nudes.

Have tasted AniChe before and have loved their wines historically.
Tasting with our group of six did not resonate this time. Found the white wines had an odd funky nose on most of them. Some of our thoughts were initially that perhaps the glasses were off, but our group consensus was just thumbs down on the whites.
The reds were a touch better, but missed the 3 Witches and Shelob which were out of stock. :(.
We left with a few bottles, but more misses than hits this time.
I really liked the tasting room building (which is apparently not for long). The old bank is a pretty interesting place.
The artwork is pretty provocative, which while I was not offended, I found it a touch out of place with the tasting room environment. If you are easily offended, I suggest you avoid due to sexual content.

We have friends who are part of the club and took us by for some tastings. The wine was great and the cheese and meat plates paired well. We did have a kiddo with us and there was a little game area for her to play in while we enjoyed ourselves. There was a little art show there with a erotic type theme to it. Once the child found the wooden phalice it was time to go!

We've been a member here for about a year now and AniChe has become one of our favorite wineries. Their selection of interesting, unique and tasty blends always surprise and delight. We try to visit often so we can taste the slight difference as the wine matures. The head wine maker and others are frequently on site and always seem happy to answer questions, share information and their opinions on the wine. The women of AniChe always make sure you have good conversation.
This new Hood River tasting room is a beautiful and historic part of the town. I'm so happy AniChe now occupies it. They also host art shows from local artists. So, you can look at (and buy) some great art while you're drinking their amazing wine!

From the moment you enter this building your wonderful experience begins. It is not like your average tasting room. There is wonderful music playing in the background, you are greeted on arrival and instructed on how the tasting works. You are made to feel very welcome, offered tables to sit at, and encouraged to play board games or card games (all available for use). The menu for tasting is very extensive, and the pairing of food with the wine is spot on. However, unlike many places, you are talked through the whole journey, and encouraged to give feedback. Having a child with us, was not an issue, and he was encouraged to join in the board games etc. It was a lovely way to pass a few hours on a very cold and snowy afternoon.

We walked into the AniChe Cellars tasting room in Hood River on our first evening in town. They had live music on a Friday night which was fun to listen to while we did the flight of wine tastings. They paired their wine tastings with a food tasting which was very enjoyable because it really brings out the flavors in the wine. Several tables have a chess board set up so we decided to sit at one of them. We played chess while we listened to the music and tried the wine. The people working there were very knowledgeable and friendly. We purchased a bottle of one of their red wines.

When AniChe Cellars opened their downtown Hood River tasting room I was not a potential customer. (I had a very disappointing experience at the AniChe Underwood tasting room in October 2013 that generated a negative review on my part and an off-the-mark response from AniChe.) But a girlfriend convinced me to give AniChe another try and I am glad she did. Kristine is an amazing hostess at the Hood River tasting room and she will spoil you with the informative wine-and-food pairings and her customer-focused attitude. Kristine is an awesome ambassador for AniChe Cellars and because of her I have not only become a frequent customer of the AniChe Hood River tasting room, but also an eventual wine club member. Kudos to Kristine for her welcoming and professional approach, and AniChe Cellars for recognizing the need to hire outstanding hostesses like Kristine and producing excellent wines.

Hello! Thanks so much for giving us a second chance! We agree that Kristine is a rockstar. She has been working with us off and on for a few years now and has finally agreed to be our Tasting Room manager in Hood River. We couldn't ask for a better representative for our winery.

Four friends stopped by just to have a fun wine tasting. Ani catered to us bringing 6 wines for our flights with 6 mini-food pairings and a wealth of information. Each wine is named after a literary reference. That was awesome. Every wine was delicious and the pairings were a wonderful bonus. The cost for the experience was $10.00 each..what???!!! So reasonable!

Thanks for the wonderful review...(and sorry for the tardy response...I am a luddite at heart).
Anais is one of the winery namesakes (the Ani in AniChe) and our GM as well as a winemaker to boot! She wears many hats, but she shines in the Tasting Room. She is passionate about her work and the wines we make, as well as passionate about the experience of our guests.
