'Adit' means an entrance to a mine, and this public house is located in an historic building that once, indeed, opened into a mine. (Fitting, in our historic, gold-rush town.) The range of microbrews on tap is wide. I enjoy stopping in and sipping an IPA in a frosty glass--often from a brewery I haven't heard of. The only downside: no outdoor seating. Last time I was there, they didn't serve food, but you can order a pizza from nearby Bella Union. Easy. Low-key. Local.

This neat little Jacksonville attraction is really a cool little hideout that offers a good selection of beers and wines for sale. If you need to get "lost" but still be around, i'd suggest the 1st floor of this Public house.
