Nice SP with hook ups
2021年7月 • 好友
Friend and I stayed here for 2 nights. Clean bathrooms, nice showered with hot water. Camp host friendly. Clean campground. A lot to see and do in the area. We were gone most of the day exploring and slept well at night.
We went to lava lands, saw the Big Tree and drove to some lakes in the area.
We would stay again.

GREAT PARK
2021年5月
Whether you are a single, couple or family this park does not disappoint. The entire park is well managed and I found park hosts to be friendly and helpful.

LaPine State Park-Full service site including onsite sewer was $64 for two nights including the $8 reservation fee. By accident we reserved site #39 that was a previous campground host site. It was large with two fire pits and two tables. Like Tumalo the hiking is superb and some trails are along the river.

There are three campsite loops at LaPine Park. The North loop is the oldest and only 20 amp. Showers are clean but one can see a bit of aging. Our site was in the South loop with 50 amp and I did not have to level. (22’ Outlook Class C no slides) The handicap shower/bath room was amazing. Although not handicapped I used the shower at 6 am. One room with toilet, sink, mirror and large shower area. Great for families with children.

We had campfires all four evenings. There was enough branches and firewood in the area surrounding our campsite that we used for firewood. You are allowed to bring your own firewood as long as it was grown in Oregon.

A huge day use area across the road from the campsites has amazing trails and frisbee golf area.

Hiking trails won't disappoint and you can choose a trail that follows the river. Sites are paved and the South loop sites appeared to be the most level. I would not hesitate being self contained to reserve a tent site if RV sites were full.

Cabins for rent and some have showers!

Family reunion
2020年8月 • 夫妻情侣
We met here for a family reunion. The park is beautiful and met the needs of all our family from those in tents to those in RVs with hookups. I had rented the meeting hall which was canceled due to covid, but we were still allowed to use the picnic tables and BBQ grill outside the hall. There is a big grassy area by the hall for kids to run and play. The river is close by for kids to enjoy

Returning with my Kayak!!!

La Pine State Park is a beauty in the desert! Combine the heat and lack of rain of the eastern desert with sme lush scenic views along the Deschutes River. It is not our first choice style of camping, we like more remote isolated stuff, but every now and then we need a reservation site and this one fit the bill for a couple nights while on a longer road trip. And it is open year round! We made a late reservation and got site 136 when someone made a cancellation. This site backs up to the main road and sits right at the park entrance but it was surprisingly private for the less than ideal location. We especially loved being able to ride our bikes on trails right from camp!

Interesting Park
2019年10月 • 独自旅游
Stopped in and did a little scouting out of the park for fishing opportunities. Located four miles off of Highway 97, this attractive park was deserted when I visited except for the campground next to the river, which was full of RV’s and a few cabins. The river was not too exciting for fishing, so I went to see the Big Tree, the largest Ponderosa Pine - at one time - in the world. Pretty cool. Also visited McGregor’s Overlook which was awesome view of the horseshoe bend in Deschutes River. I expect in summer this place is packed. Many hiking trails to check out. Maybe next time.

Last minute camping trip and they had space available for 3 nights. Nice large camping spots and quiet. Enjoyed playing in the river with our dogs. Site wooded so had shade fromthe sun.

Had a great time, got in on a Sunday and stayed 3 nights in a row. Campground nearly full, yet not real noisy. Sites well-spaced and privatized. Located in beautiful forest setting, so much to do in such a short distance. Cold stream to swim in, refreshing on an average summer's day there.

Beautiful
2019年8月 • 家庭
I’ve already reviewed the visitor center, which was fabulous. This park also has ice caves, lakes and falls. My daughter and I did it all in one day.

The ice caves are free but if you need a light it is $5. One mile in, the cave was cool on a hot day and lots of fun. There is a lot of clearance- we only had to duck once- and pretty even footing- there are hand rails at most of the rough spots.

The falls were beautiful and my daughter and the dogs were able to go swimming at the lake.

Rustic Cabin Goodness
2019年7月 • 好友
We stayed at LPSP in a rustic cabin for four nights, and enjoyed both the quiet of being off the beaten path, the local trails, and the quality of fellow RVers and cabin people--respectful, friendly, and creating a kind of instant and secure community where kids can play and adults could enjoy quality R&R. The restrooms and showers are fine, the cabin itself was more than enough to meet our needs as three adults. And the river--slow moving, refreshingly cool, and lots of little spots to choose from if you're looking for a sandy beach or jump in point.
