George Rogers is a lovely medium sized park on an historic site at the junction of Oswego Creek and the Willamette Rives in Lake Oswego, OR. The site was long occupied by native Americans and may artifacts have been found. In the mid 19th century, it was the site of the first iron ore processing facilities on the West Coast. There is a very well preserved Oswego Iron Furnace build in 1866 build by the Oswego Iron Company. It looks like a fortification tower in the forest from a distance.
Today it is surrounded by George Rogers Park, which features a green sward and river access for sun bathing, swimming, rafting, and access to hiking trails along the river. On a weekday, park was near full but available. I would guess on warm weekend day it would fill up quickly. Tree lined and beutifully landscaped, George

Love taking a late afternoon paddle off of the beach at George Rogers Park. Nice area to easily get on and off the paddle board - parking is a bit tough on hot days.

Gorgeous popular historical well maintained park right downtown . Lawn areas , picnic tables , sandy beach , river , lots of parking (but often packed ). Beautiful setting . Walking trails . A gem .

George Rogers Park has many facets: access to the Willamette River for kayaking or paddleboard from a small beach where you can sunbath; a path above the river; pickle ball court; playground, soccer field; historical information. If you plan to get in the river, be sure to have .a life jacket for everyone. The river can be cold and have currents.

Came across this park a couple of years ago and we make return visits when we are in the area. It is well laid out and has great riverside views. Only drawback is the black sand/mud on the beach.

Short hiking trail at the end of the parking lot but good for a stroll or walk with the dog. The views of the river are wonderful. The history of the iron furnace is interesting for all. There are benches scattered around the small park area. The beach area is very small but lovely.

I’ve been to the park for a car show a few years ago, but had NO idea about the access to the river, nor the trail that leads to West Linn! Had a beautiful run...

I bring the kids here often. It's a great playground for littles and biggers-once you can find it!- and the river is beautiful. We have put our kayaks in the water during warm months. The walk down to the river is a paved staircase with wheelchair/stroller ramp. There are bathrooms on the parking lot level. Ducks come to the river to swim and play on the sand, which the kids love. It's definitely a must-see in Lake Oswego!
