The geyser was flowing again when I was there. Every minute or so it erupted. The roadhouse next door is open again too and the rooms are adorable. From outside it looks somewhat rundown but inside it actually really nice. The restaurant was delicious and the prime rib with geyser/hotspring view will be really nice once renovations are complete outside. Not a destination on it's own but absolutely worth stopping at if you're driving through.

Visited on August 9, 2022 at 1:15 pm (local time), waited 30 minutes and not a single eruption. My best guess is it is drought related.

This geyser is located past the best western and beside the Hunters lodge .There is a road after you see the lodge with a sign about the geyser.Just drive down that road and stop on the left side and you will see it go off about every 10-15 minutes.It is not massive but it was impressive.

The geyser indeed does go off very often, in fact it was the spout that helped us to realize where we needed to go as the gps took us on Geyser View Lane. The geyser itself is fine, the lodge restaurant was closed today on a Tuesday in the off season so we didn't speak to anyone besides the FedEx driver delivering at the time.

Due to drought the geyser is not going off. 1st disappointment. Then was looking forward to pizza and that wasn’t happening either. All in all, the trip was a bust.
However, the gentleman that spoke to us was very nice and I wish them luck with their remodel project. And would love to go back for their dinner time as the dining room looked awesome and inviting.

Stopped by to see the geyser erupt and after waiting about 10 minutes we asked someone walking by who told us it hasn’t gone off for about 2 to 3 weeks, so stopped in late Sept 2020.

We had no clue what we were going to see when we booked our room at the Hunter's Hot Springs Lodge in Lakeview. They are doing an awesome job of remodeling. Our room was updated and very clean. We will definitely go again. We can't wait to see what else they do with the property. Oh... and the geyser was super cool too.

Old Perpetual has been a constant in my lifetime. Still amazing when it struts its stuff! Suffers in drought years due to excessive agricultural well drilling in recent years. Still remains a wonderous sight none the less!

Not really a whole lot to see but pretty fascinating that it does blow over and over again. Certainly more reliable than Old Faithful

You’re in business at most times during the year watching the geyser spew every 1-3 minutes, especially in the winter. Come summer, you may be straight out of luck as it’s quiet, so don’t be disappointed. Depending on timing, you can see the geyser shoot water about 20-30 feet while heading southbound towards Lakeview on Hwy 395. The second option is to turn east on Geyser View Road and just pull out along the road and wait for it to blow. Last but not least, just turn at Hunters Hot Spring, turn right before the lodge, park the car and walk a few steps to the pond. When the temperatures are just right in the winter, you may see steam and billows of geothermal heat all around the geyser area, making for beautiful photo opportunities. It’s nit Yellowstone but it’s free, unexpected, and a fun short stop whether you’re coming or going.

My husband and I both use breathing machines when we sleep. Would we be allowed to book a handicap room and do you charge more for them? My husband is a senior and I am a disabled veteran. I have just had leg surgery so a bottom floor would be helpful. We would be there one night on the 20th of December. Also, do you allow late check in? We will be coming from Billings Montana.
