Love taking this loop where you drive through a "tunnel" of trees. It's so quiet and lovely and then it opens up to gorgeous ocean views.

Facility was closed but it still allowed good views. We were able to see our lodging from there which would have been the only way to see an ocean view of the front of the resort.

Far exceeded my expectations, Captain Cook did it a disservice with the naming he gave it though entirely understandable considering the weather he apparently ran into here. In any case, this is a great viewing are above the waterfront where one can often see great wild life, thanks to the rangers and volunteers whale spouts and tails were seen in the distance from here, very friendly people. The gift shop is wonderful for the entire area and it's lighthouses.. great stuff, highly recommend a stop here.

Great views and volunteers! It’s such a cute little house where you can whale watch. Lots of souvenirs and nice staff. Enjoyed our visit.

We often stop here to enjoy the view from the bluffs, there is a cute little interpretive center & gift shop, portable restrooms (have always been clean). Some really lovely coastal views if you get out of the car.

This is near the end of the Otter Crest Loop Drive. Very beautiful overlook, with some history. Good signage. Big parking lot. I didn't use the bathroom, but I'm pretty sure there is one.
There's a gift shop that wasn't open on a wed. Steep stairs down to get to it. There was a small overlook there.
You can see 30 miles of coast on a clear day. After our fog problems earlier in the morning, we felt lucky to see anything!

I was solo with my pup and loved this scenic drive together. She went everywhere I did except the visitor center/gift shop which has the best view for whale watching and some cool whale info displays. But it's usually cool enough to leave the pup in the car with windows cracked

You have good answers already. While the gift shop has the best location for taking pictures, you can go to the right of the building and walk up to the fence to get a picture.
They are right about no restriction on being up there past the time the gift shop is open.
