Relaxing place to view the river and picnic

Always enjoy a walk through the park when the sun is out and boaters are on the water. Nice shady areas for picnic lunch, or sometimes we just grab a hamburger from McDonald's on our way into the park.

RV parking right on the river

Not a beautiful parking situation, but a beautiful view right on the river. Power and water at each site, a dump station outside the entrance. Sites are level and well graveled. The park is awesome, lots of areas to walk and the portion on the Clackamas river has fun sand bars to explore. Some homeless folks camping on the river outside the park and hanging around during the day. The RV park has several hosts for security and was clean and well maintained.

Hidden little campground by the river

This is a no-reservation, first come, first serve campground. My daughter and I were driving through and just looking for a one night sleeping spot. When we pulled in, the host met us and let us know which sites were available. I appreciated having the information upon arrival. We quickly checked in with her and paid for the nigh. This was close to the city park and on the water with really nice walking trails. With that being said, there is a transient population and I did wake up to some people yelling on the exterior of the campground. A previous reviewer mentioned that the host is aggressive...she is but I feel that helps the park as she does make it clear at check in that she chases people out of the campground who do not belong. When I travel with my daughter, I expect to feel safe when I stop for the night.

I've loved this park ever since I was a small child. I'm probably biased because I'm local but this place is wonderful and beautiful. A healthy respect for safety is always important, and be sure to take a handful of trash with you if you see any. =)

Relaxing spot

I go there a lot sometime take my lunch or chair and a good book. Great place to relax and people watch. Love watching the kids feed the ducks. Don’t give them bread not good for them I go to spicers veg store and get lettuce grapes almost any fresh veg

Nice place to enjoy the river

We came to spend the afternoon playing cards,we enjoyed the area,nice rest rooms plenty of parking,great place to feed the ducks,or just watch people

Great park on the river, seasonal rv park and boat launch also.

Been here for many events, car shows, dog shows, club picnics, etc. Large park on the river, nice shade trees, gazebo available by reservation, kids swings, skate park, horseshoe pits, and restrooms. Seasonal city operated rv park and boat launch.

Right On the River

In an area where commercial campgrounds are booked solid during July and charge between $50 and $70 per night, this RV campground and park is a bargain if you don't need public toilets, showers or laundry. We had a spacious, quiet, satellite-friendly, pull-through site with 30-amp electric and water for $20/night. Riverfront sites are $25. Maximum stay allowed was 10 nights. No reservations are accepted. There are pull-in sites overlooking the river and back-in sites at the rear of the campground. Pull-through sites are in the middle. Upon arrival, grab an empty site and pay the campground host with cash, MasterCard or VISA.

Several other restaurants and McDonald's are within a short walking distance. The entrance/exit gate is locked at 10:00 pm and unlocked at 5:00 am. A dump station is available just off the campground's exit road. If all you need are the basics and can arrive early enough to grab a campsite before they're all gone, this is a low-cost place to get a good night's sleep and possibly enjoy some river recreation.

We stayed here in a Class A Motorhome.

Beautiful Park

Right on the river, able to launch your boat to enjoy a day on the river. Lots of picnic tables scattered throughout the park. The only play activity we saw for kids are a few swings.
