We rented one of the cabins in the campground. It was quite nice, separated and quite. Had a view of the ocean from the front of the cabin. Has a trail to hike for a good view also has a little road you can drive to to get to the beach and drive on the beach - be warned though it is narrow, single lane and rough road with only a couple turnouts incase another vehicle is coming the other direction. Would recommend a four wheel drive but we did see a sedan going down on our way back up. Campground is nice but expect a lot of wind in the evening and night. We were there it was 70 degrees during the day but got really cold once the sun went down and the wind picked up. Beautiful sunsets at the lighthouse but once again windiest place in the U.S.

We had a hard time finding good maps for this hike, despite a fair number of on-line reports. In the end, we found our very old Sullivan Coast Hiking Guidebook was still accurate for the "northern loop" hike (about 4.5 miles, 500 feet up/down). We parked at the road end by Hughes House and hiked along the Sixes River on an obvious trail to the beach. We hiked the route close to high tide - but it was fine... just soft sand for about a mile. A few days before, we hiked Blacklock point (to the north) - and it was fun to see that from here, along with a lot of sea stacks. The trail up from the beach has a very small Oregon Coast Trail marker - so you need to stay alert. It's a decent but short climb to the road - where there is a gate/parking lot. We chose not to visit the lighthouse (about 0.5 miles down the gated road). We hiked the road about 0.25 miles and found the first of several junctions back to the car/trailhead. Although the trails were obvious, there were several junctions to check carefully. Half the route was in the open, but half was in dark and sort of eerie woods. The final half-mile is in an "open range" pasture of grass where cows may be grazing. We were the only ones on this trail the whole time we were there - which was shocking because it was sunny, warm, and only slightly windy (compared with earlier in the week).

Cape Blanco is so beautiful! It is the most western point on the west coast so always expect wind. It's cold too! But worth the effort. The campsites are generously spaced apart with lots of trees in between on the bluff above the ocean. Huge trees, ferns and old man's beard moss in the trees. There's bathroom and showers, horse campground too although it's bare bones but close enough to the restrooms and showers to walk over. Corrals have been updated thanks to OET!

The Oregon coast is spectacular, and here, at Cape Blanco State Park, this is no exception. This long expanse of coast hugs the Pacific Ocean with forever view. Haystacks adorn the coast, and the sand beaches are soft and clean. The forever views leave you wishing you could run down the beach and soar over the breaking waves. Peaceful and sublime.

Cape Blanco is the western most point in the continental 🇺🇸. Amazing views N and S, with a historic light house out at the point. Don't miss a visit to the Hughes House.

Stopped here on our road trip to park up and eat a picnic. We are in the car as a windy open space with a light house. Looks like it gets seldom visited as it was quiet.
