The chocolate was fabulous and the experience was so warm and welcoming. Our walking tour guide, Sarah, introduced us to the shop and Christine, and we went back later to enjoy the amazing chocolate drinks and handmade truffles. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

This teensy shop features a magnificent selection of gourmet chocolates. The housemade drinking chocolate is also wonderful, especially on a cold day. The staff is friendly, smart and personable, always generous with samples. We love this shop, one our favorite chocolate shops anywhere.

So I called Christine to make a special delivery for my husband for V Day and Even though I had the wrong Hotel she still came through and delivered an amazing surprise! Thanks again! I'm super jealous that I am not there to enjoy her treats!

We have to stop here every time we stay at the Embassy Suites here in Portland! The service is amazing and the chocolates are delicious! They have a shop at the Heathman Hotel as well. These chocolates are so wonderfully decadent and make great gifts...unless I decide to keep them for myself!

They recently have a new location where an old sipping chocolate shop used to be inside the Heathman. I didn't know the shop had changed, but noticed slowly that some things were different. It's a small location with two seats at a bar that looks out onto the sidewalk. Tight quarters. There's a lot of stuff in this shop ... tea, chocolate, other gift ideas. It feels a bit on the cluttered side, and I could hear the owners discussing life problems while I was trying to relax. The "daughter" (I am assuming) of the family was nice and helped me. 2.50 for a small cup of sipping chocolate.

My wife and I visited Portland to celebrate our 10th anniversary. I wanted to make the occasion special. My wife loves a good bottle of wine, and Oregon is famous for great wines. So I phoned our hotel concierge about having a good bottle of wine delivered to our room, to be waiting for her when we checked in. The Embassy Suites Hotel immediately referred me to “Christine” at Azar Indulgences. Over the phone Christine helped me pick out a great bottle of local wine, reasonably priced, notably without an “unreasonable” price markup. I also took her recommendation on some chocolates to accompany the wine. When we checked into our hotel room, the wine and chocolates were waiting for us. The wine that Christine selected was perfect, a big, bold red, just like my wife likes it. And the chocolates look like an innocent little little square, silver wrapped, piece of chocolate. But take a bite and it explodes with sweet goodness. They are really tiny chocolate dipped cheesecake bites. Delicious! I really “knocked it out of the park” with my wife for our 10th. Thanks, Christine. Thanks, Azar Indulgences.

Bottom line: You will not regret stopping here!
Amazing chocolate, great coffee, unbelievably friendly!
We were walking by with our dog when we stopped to let the owner meet our dog. The owner invited us inside and was incredibly friendly and genuinely nice. We sampled some chocolate and of course bought a bunch. The next day, I was walking our dog and the owner stepped out to greet us. She invited us in again and gave me some coffee on the house. I bought some more coffee and of course more chocolate! We were just visiting Portland but will definitely visit Azar Indulgences when we come back!

Wonderful wine and chocolates. Excellent recommendations and goes above and beyond. Even offered to bring my purchases to my room since my hands were full.

My girlfriends and I spent New Year's Eve at the Embassy Suites and were extremely happy to find this adorable family owned chocolate, wine and cigar bar... we joked we wouldn't even have to leave the hotel, aka we barely did! Christine is so welcoming it feels like walking into a friend's house and she even let me have some chocolate for free. You are definitely supporting local here and it was a real treat! Thank you!

I am such a chocolate snob. I have had good chocolates from all around the globe - French, Swiss, Belgian, Italian ....and Azar's chocolates stand up to all of those. It is excellent. The shop is easy to navigate, easy to move around, see the options - which are many. There are white, milk and dark chocolates. Some are plain, nut or cream filled but every one is delicious and wonderful. It's worth the trip. She will also ship - as she offers a chocolate of the month club! Check it out!
