Donuts are quite good but service really was poor. There wasn’t a huge selection so we chose creme brûlée and a Meyer lemon/lime. They took our name and asked us to wait for our order. When it didn’t arrive, we inquired. They said, oh we must have given it to someone else. By that time, they were completely out of the creme brûlée. They gave us 4 of the ‘lemon-lime’ in place of the 2 we ordered only to find that none were that flavour and all were a flavour that we did want or like. Disappointing.

After booking one of the downtown Portland hotels, I asked for a recommendation for a shuttle between the airport and their hotel. I was advised to take this shuttle. When I arrived at the airport, I asked a couple of people where to wait for the shuttle. I was advised and went to the appropriate place. I waited about 25 minutes. The driver, Wayne, was a good driver and friendly. He dropped me off right in front of my hotel. It was fourteen dollars for the ride from the airport. The van was full for my trip. Good way to travel from airport to downtown hotel.

The Downtown Express Shuttle is a decent service and well-priced as shuttles go. If you need a ride between the Western Portland area and the airport, you can check the website to see the stops they make (pre-determined) and whether or not you should schedule in advance. There is a slight break in price if you schedule your round-trip in advance.
The shuttle is good enough and the driver very personable and helpful. It was a little too warm in the vehicle and I suppose I should have asked to lower the windows after the driver had closed them, but I felt he must have preferred them closed. The drive itself was not smooth (inconsistency on the accelerator), but he knew his way around and we got to our destination safely and on time, with a view of the city along the way.
Ultimately, I opted to take public transportation on my return trip to the airport, as it is a considerable savings, easier, takes the same amount of time, and is more comfortable for me. It is personal choice, but I recommend public transportation over this.
The Blue Star website can be buggy if you are trying to schedule, so if you have trouble with it you can call, but cannot prepay or get a written confirmation. Over the phone, one person I spoke with was a little gruff, but overall got my reservation entered and was functional, so don't let it bother you. If you want a shuttle, the Blue Star Downtown Express is a good option.

I called the day before arriving in Portland and gave a private address near downtown to which I needed to go. I was told "no problem"-- just go to pick up site. I did that the next day and the driver informed me that he had called dispatcher and could not take me. He was great and told me how to contact Blue Star if I was unhappy about this. Upon returning home, I called Blue Star and asked what had happened. I was informed that I could not be picked up due to "bad weather". Note that the snow storm he referred to had occurred 3 days before my call. No where on the web site does it say ride dependent on weather. The person I talked to the day before did not mention this possibility. I would never count on Blue Star again!
