Amazing learning center

Amazing learning center. As a grown man visiting alone, I enjoyed so much. There are many interactive exhibits, including the puzzles! I spent 30 minutes trying different puzzles and they were so fun. The planetarium exhibition requires additional fee, but it was informative and immersive.

Great Museum - Lots of Interactive Exhibits for Kids

Great museum covering a broad range of topics. There are lots of interactive exhibits for kids to enjoy and learn by experiencing things. The highlight of the museum is the Blueback Submarine docked in the river and taking a tour of it is highly recommended. You can easily spend an entire day here.

Great for kids not for Couples

This is a wonderful place to take the kids. Unfortunately, we were a couple and found ourselves in child's playland of science. I think the only adult thing to see and do was the sub. We were visiting from Chicago and because we are members there, we get access to museums across the country. We decided to check it out and I wanted to see what the Orca exhibit was all about. Turns out it was just a film and the film was only played once maybe twice a day and we missed it. We walked upstairs, outside, and around every corner and got the gist. If you're a couple or a in town to visit this is meant more for families with small children. I don't think our teenager would have been interested in many of the activities beyond just seeing what it does. (You know the 2.5 second time span of teens now) Great way to keep the kids entertained for a couple of hours.

Value and an all day activities

We travel a distance to go to this place and it was worth the drive and value for the money. We arrived around 10 am and left at 4 pm. I have a 5 year old who completely immersed himself in the variety of labs, play area and the exhibits. I also had a great time in the chemistry lab with him.

Great learning science museum

OMSI is great experience for kids and adults too. We saw this year's Orca exhibit. Which was beautiful as always. So much to cover in a day is nearly impossible. We visit every year when they open new exhibit.
We used to eat at Theory restaurant but food portion is way smaller we felt this time. We ordered pizzas for 14.95 and we expected to be atleast good enough for one person meal. But it was very tiny pizza of 4 slices only. Though the quality is good as always.

Total rip off

This museum doesn't appear to have any permanent exhibits. There was a temporary exhibit on orca whales, which was ok, but not much else going on for adults. What a rip off ... won't be back.

Super disappointed with my recent visit. Not super engaging exhibits. Walked all the across the building with my 3 year old daughter who desperately had to use the restroom, only to find 2 full sized all-gender bathrooms. I do not feel safe entering that bathroom as a small woman with a little child knowing there are men inside. We had to run across the building to the women's bathroom, which was packed. No breastfeeding room, only "Quiet Room". Not family friendly and more considered with a political agenda, as displayed by their staff and logistical options.

Just a Leftist Political Stage

Many years ago, OMSI was established to celebrate science and man's application of it in industry for the provision of things that raise our standard of living. The emphasis was on how stuff works and was in the context of free markets and the scientific method. I loved it as a kid as did my kids growing up.
Sadly, now OMSI is just another left-wing political display. The entire emphasis is on politically correct, science-free dogma. No need to visit. If you decide to go after all, note that crime has soared in the area.

Great Hands On Learning Experience

We had a shift in our schedule and some family members suggested to go check out OMSI. It was amazing. We spent all afternoon at OMSI and maybe explored about a 1/4 of what the place had to offer. We did do the submarine tour. That was very cool. I would not take small childern, it is very compact and lots of different levels. Also not a fan of small spaces. I did enjoy the history and the wealth of knowledge our tour guide provided. We have plans to go back this summer.

Amazing fun, went here countless times as a kid with family, and most recently on school trips. Great place with countless of interactive experiences for younger children, and lots of more higher level more informative focused stuff for older ones. Few of the top level attractions tend to switch from month to month so its nice to see what's new now and then
